Tai Ji, sometimes spelled Tai Chi, is one of the most powerful tools available for those wanting to make a positive change in their health and wellbeing. From reducing the physical symptoms of stress, to increased balance and relief from chronic pain, Tai Ji has almost unlimited potential to make a difference in our daily lives.
Tai Ji, which translates to "Grand Ultimate Fist", is becoming more well known in the west as its health benefits are acknowledged by medical professionals. The beauty of Tai Ji is its versatility. At its roots, it is a martial art centered around self defense, but can also be practiced solely for health and meditative benefits.
At Sequoia Kung Fu & Yoga we practice "peace-time" martial arts. Our practice focuses on self development, and the protection of ourselves and loved ones. We do not train for competitions, needless fighting, or to use aggression. In our community cooperation is more important than competition, character is more important than skill, principles are more important than aesthetics, and function is more important than form.
Additional family members within the same household may be added to any membership and enjoy the same privileges as the original membership. To add a family member to your membership (up to 3 members), provide us with the name, birthdate, and contact information for the additional member. First Responders, Military personnel, and students receive a 20% discount on all memberships.

Sequoia Kung Fu & Yoga is an amazing place for learning, health, practice and community. Maya and Sonny demonstrate a competence that is a testament to their dedication and commitment to their respective arts. The school is welcoming to participants of all ages, backgrounds and experience, including no experience. I started as a 40+ adult with no experience in martial arts. While I'm no expert today, Lao Shi Sonny has helped me grow my practice into something I can be proud of and continue to develop... it has been a game-changer in my physical and mental health. I can't recommend SKFY highly enough

I finally found someone with the proper skills of the Kung fu techniques I want passed on to my son!...Sonny not only has the skills to teach proper self defence but has the knowledge and wisdom of his experiences in life that balance's out mind and body and passes it down to his students...Along with his wife Maya who teaches yoga they provide a welcoming atmosphere that makes u feel right at home!...But dont be fooled....If u train with Sonny and apply urself with all u got you will be that person not to be reckoned with!...But alot of hard work comes first and Sonny will make sure of that!!
