We care what you think. If you have suggestions or concerns please let us know either by meeting with us personally, giving us a call or emailing us! Kentucky River Campground was established in 1973. We are located right on the beautiful Kentucky River just minutes from our state's historic capital city and is situated along the Kentucky Bourbon Trail.
For over 40 years friends and families have come together for relaxation, good food and great fun. Throughout the summer we offer a full schedule of activities for children and adults alike. From Memorial Day through Halloween we are always celebrating life on the river. In addition to the great American traditional holidays we have a few of our own.

What a great bunch of people! We rolled in on our motorcycle and they greated and welcomed us with open arms. They were cooking dinner and invited us to eat. The place was clean. Only a few tent sites and very limited sites for campers because most the people are seasonals.
If we are in town again, we will be going here again.

Six of my family and friends were on a Rockin Thunder boat trip from Madison, Indiana to Frankfort, Kentucky. The kind folks at Kentucky River Campground invited all 17 people on the boat to join them for a cookout and lunch smorgasbord. I inadvertently left my purse behind at the campground. Captain Paul Nicholson, from Rockin Thunder, called the campground and told Denise my dilemma. She found my purse and Angie mailed it to me at my home in Cincinnati, Ohio. They are such honest, friendly, and warm people. Thank you!!

We really enjoyed our visit and stay here, especially the deck overlooking the river! Made out bbq’s very enjoyable! Everyone here was very friendly and helpful. I will add however the sites can be very tight to get into, and they’re extremely close together. I believe most of the RVs there are long timers and share holders. Frankfort is about 10-15 minute drive away.

We have a 36 ft RV and they pack everyone in like sardines - nice view of the Kentucky River but you cant open your awning because it will hit the neighbors rig. You cant open your shades because you will be staring into your neighbors rig. Womens shower is plumbed backwards with no signage so appears there is no hot water. Our friends canceled their stay because how cramped between rigs they were.

Everyone was so nice and helpful. It was our first time ever taking our RV out. Everyone was willing to answer any questions we had. They had free coffee in the house where you check in at. Also had like a little store type thing where you could get some supplies. The campground was beautiful and very well maintained!
