According to the American Academy of Dermatology, Acne is the most common skin condition in the United States, effecting approximately 40 to 50 million Americans annually. According to the National Institute of Health 9 to 30% of the US population suffers from atopic dermatitis (commonly known as eczema).
Common factors include emotional distress, weakened constitution and aging, and improper diet and eating habits. These factor disrupt the balance within the body and the body fails to enter into a yin state at night, which can cause both difficulty in falling asleep as well as waking in the middle of the night and not being able to fall back to sleep.
When our body's Qi and blood are obstructed, pain develops. Chinese herbal formulas can be used to enhance circulation of Qi and blood. Pain from arthritis, known as bi zheng (obstruction syndrome) in Chinese, can be greatly reduced with the use of herbs. Herbal therapy can relax muscles, reduce swelling and inflammation, and speed up the healing process.
