Whether you need a wheel trued on your coast-to-coast bike tour, a brake bleed on your XC bike or simply air in your tires, we can fix you up!
Services
Here at Dakota Cyclery, we take pride in our well maintained fleet of rental bikes. We have a wide variety of rentals - from high end full sususpention for the Maah Daah Hey to flat bar road bikes for the nearby National Park Loop to cruisers for hitting the streets of Historic Medora. Give us a call or send us an email to reserve your bike today!
This will provide you with a solid overview for the trail system while you plan your trip from home. But you will need a more detailed map of the spider web of backcountry road crossings and trail mileages, etc. once you hit the trail. You can stop in to see us and pick up a National Geographic map for the original MDH trail (with best detail), or a USFS National Grasslands Map of both the MDH 1 & 2 (Duece).

I did the buffalo gap trail as my first mountain biking experience. The bikes were very high quality and the trail was spectacular. They describe this trail as beginner-intermediate. However, I definitely wouldn't recommend this for someone without good biking skills as it is pretty challenging.

This is a great place for bike rentals, tours, and gear! Jennifer was super helpful in matching us with the right mountain biking trail and bikes. We had a wonderful experience as a result. Great way to see the badlands. Recommend their super soft t-shirts, too!

My favorite spot in all of Medora. I first visited, in their old location, over 15 years ago and it began a love affair with cycling. We rented bikes to go through the park and have come back many times in the years following to do the loop again. I bought a bike from them early on and have had them service my bikes as well. The staff is amazing! They have wonderful service, are always friendly and prices are so great!

Jen and the folks at Dakota Cyclery took great care of us during our five day excursion on the MDH. Without her expert advice we would never have been able to see as much of the trail as we did due to inclement weather. Don’t hesitate to use these guys they are fantastic and we thoroughly enjoyed our trip, it was worth every penny. Thanks Jen!

Jen and Loren were super helpful, service was the best I have ever experienced at a bike shop. We did the MDH with their shuttle service and I ended up renting a bike since FedEx dropped the ball and delivered my bike 7 days late. Good people, very nice small town feel.

The cable snapped on my Trek Madone and I was desperate to find a shop that could fix it. It broke when I was cycling in Bismarck but being Sunday I could not find a bike shop that was open. We drove to Medora and on the way I called Dakota Cyclery and explained the situation. Jen said to bring it in and they would fix it. I stopped by about 3 pm she was super friendly and helpful. They cleaned the bike and started working on it while we went to the motel. If you know the bike it is very difficult to change the cable as it is in the frame of the bike. Jen and here husband worked on it for the rest

Awesome little family owned local shop, check them out if you swing through Medora.

I have a slight bias b/c of a minor connection to the shop, but my bf and I checked it out in person on a guided mountain bike ride earlier today and had a great time. Trails were tiring for us (we don't ride much) but super fun.

Rentals and guided tours are both very reasonably priced. The guiding is well worth it if you're aren't familiar with the area or have room to improve on yr riding (and who doesn't), or just want to have a local show you around.

It's a small operation so its

I was hiking in TRNP and these ppl were able to give me a ligt into the park for a fee which was very helpful. I was also able to rent a mountain bike from them for the day and biked throughout the south park all 36 miles of paved road in about 6 hours. It was a great time. We look forward to using there services again next year.
