Having been in the scrap business for over fifty years, collecting is a sort of obsession with owners Bernie and Mary Smits, who've accumulated an abundance of collectibles over the years. Selling antiques started almost by accident for them. While using vintage bicycles that came into the salvage yard as lawn decorations, customers would come up and ask if they could buy them for the same purpose and that's how Pedal Pushers was born.

Worked out a deal with Bernie the owner, on some antique items / vehicles. I had for sale we hagled back and forth and agreed upon a price, as well as a barter for an item my wife wanted. The item she wanted needed to be repaired,, so we agreed to wait.. i live in Denmark, so didn't think he would screw his neighbor. Have the entire conversation on text, on what he was to get, and pictures of everything he was getting. He picks up all the items, pays me the cash portion with the barter item coming later. 2 months go by and called to see what the status was. Says it wasn't in on the deal, and he
