For over 25 years, Hammerhouse Construction has been involved in executing construction projects in the San Francisco Bay Area. We understand the intricacies of this market and have long-term vetted relationships with clients, architects, interior designers, subcontractors and variety of construction vendors to move your project forward.

In our experience, it is highly productive for the client and ourselves to work directly with talented architects and designers; the results are a team of professionals efficiently stewarding a construction project from conception to completion.
Services
Founded by Thom Buchanan in 2002. Hammerhouse Construction has since evolved from a small project construction company to a business executing more complex full-service construction projects with a concentration on high-end custom residential homes and renovations. As a Green Builder, Hammerhouse Construction is committed to build healthy, resource-efficient living environments and minimize the impact of our work on the earth's environment.
We'd love an opportunity to have a conversation during your Contractor selection process and believe we have the capacity and reputation necessary to build your projects. We'd like to partner with you in the pre-construction phase and add value that frees up your time and resources. We are happy to act as your permitting coordination liaison and provide pricing input as the design progresses.
We work with many architects throughout the San Francisco Bay Area, we understand your needs, and have a process to support your project. Working on a significant renovation project requires a tremendous amount of communication between the client, architect, and builder. There are countless decisions to be made, and they all have to be made in an appropriate timeframe to ensure the project schedule is met.
I am pleased to write this review for Hammerhouse Construction. We met Thom in the spring of 2018 to discuss a kitchen and bathroom remodel for a house built in 1940 in the inner sunset near West Portal. The building plans included removing one wall to enlarge the kitchen and shifting a few other walls to enlarge a bathroom, add another toilet room, and build full-length closets in both bedrooms.
