We give church announcements, words of encouragement and review our death notices and funeral announcements as they are provided. You may click the "radio icon" below to listen live between those time frames. Upon the transition and passing of your loved one, your family has so many decisions to make in what seems, a little time.
1 Professionalism - How will they treat your family during your time with them regardless of finances? 2 Facilities - Will your family and out of town guest be satisfied with the appearance of the facilities you select? 3 Reputation - Ask around in the community about the services provided or in detail of the management of operation.

Services
As a first generation funeral director and embalmer, Aubrey H.J. Mitchell saw the need and wants of the community when it came to the funeral service industry. With the assistance of his partner, Chris M. Wilson, the vision was able to become a reality. Our location has been vacant for approximately ten years, previously housing the Lannon's Animal Hospital who have since relocated.
A walk-through viewing will take place at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Celebration of Life. A viewing will take place at the funeral home on Sunday from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the West Lawn Cemetery. A viewing of her earthly. We pause with the remaining loved ones of an energetic, adventurous and loving son, grandson, brother and friend, Romell J. Chamblee, Jr., of Elizabeth City, NC.
When it comes to your final arrangements, shouldn't you make the decisions? The arrangements you make will reflect your exact wishes and desires. Pre-arranging your own service will help to ease the burden of your loved ones. It will also alleviate any questions, problems or differences, which can occur among family members.
The basic Military Funeral Honors (MFH) ceremony consists of the folding and presentation of the United States flag to the veterans' family and the playing of Taps. The ceremony is performed by a funeral honors detail consisting of at least two members of the Armed Forces. The Funeral Honors rendered to you or your veteran will be determined by the status of the veteran.
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) furnishes upon request, at no charge to the applicant, a Government headstone or marker for the unmarked grave of any deceased eligible veteran in any cemetery around the world, regardless of their date of death. When the grave is already marked, applicants will have the option to apply for either a traditional headstone or marker, or a new device (available spring 2009).

Mr Mitchell’s bodies look so real and alive! When I first saw one of his bodies, I was amazed and had to speak on it. I had never seen a dead body with a smile on their face and a look of contentment. Mr Mitchell and his staff are really professional and I would recommend them to anyone! Anita Harris

This was a difficult time for me and my family and Mitchell’s Funeral Home was amazing. My husband body was shipped from Brooklyn NY and from the beginning after speaking with him, they just made us feel at home and secure just like family. We Thank you for the great services you provided us. I would definitely recommend this place to all of my NC family and friends. You won’t be disappointed!! I promise!

Words cannot fully express the professionalism and care our family received from Mitchell Funeral Care and Cremations during the passing of my father, Dudley R. "Tim" White. Mr. Mitchell and his staff are very knowledgeable and were compassionate towards us.
We found the funeral planning experience to be very stress-free as the staff handled every detail, even ones we did not think about. During this difficult time, we never felt alone. The staff remained in constant contact with us, and not only listened to our requests, but the staff also adhered to them.
