Modern Waxing

She was on the 4th floor. No notice other than a change of floor in the Google emails. I go to 4 and it's closed. A bit of notice would have been nice. As it is, I have made an appointment elsewhere.

Amazing wax session with Marta. She truly knows what she's doing and very professional. This is the first time in two years that I have not had skin irritation after waxing and look forward to returning. Plus I like the fact that she was not pushing me to buy any products which I have done in the past from other location which only cause more skin irritation.. I highly recommend modern waxing to anyone.

Marta was amazing. I went to her for the first time after STIL salon closed. She kept me distracted from the situation and it barely even hurt. She’s also just really sweet. And it’s totally affordable.

Marta is a miracle worker. She spoke to me the entire time (was great for keeping my mind occupied) and the pain wasn't nearly as bad as I was expecting for a first-timer. Cannot reccomend her enough!

Marta is -so good- at what she does, and she does it quickly. She’s also super sweet and has never pushed anything on me or made me feel bad about myself, which is something I can’t say for a lot of other estheticians I’ve had the displeasure of seeing.

I've been getting brazilians for about a year now and this was the best/cleanest wax i've ever gotten by far! Marta was so sweet and made it super quick and more enjoyable. I loved how she gave tips and tricks to pre/post wax care. Definitely coming back!!

Marta is very professional and quick with her services. I appreciate the online booking system which allows for ease of scheduling and privacy in the booking process so I can book at work without announcing to the office what I'm doing.

I was needing a wax before vacation last spring and stumbled upon this place on Yelp. Marta is phenomenal! I've been going back each month ever since.

Not only is she super friendly and makes the whole process very relaxed and comfortable, she is good at what she does and is reasonably priced! The salon is also very clean and well kept. You can book appointments online which is super convenient and can receive discounts for referrals.

I know where I will go every time I need a wax!

I almost don't want to submit this review because I want Marta to remain a hidden gem, but holy crap she's amazing. I've been going to Marta off and on now for about two years and in my 6 years of getting Brazilian waxes, I've gotten the best waxes in her little waxing room. She's incredibly personable and makes great conversation, quick and EXTREMELY thorough. I've had waxes before where upon inspecting myself at home, I end up seeing tons of left over hairs. Marta is the absolute BEST. She consistently provides the best Brazilian waxes I've ever had, going to anyone else is a mistake (I would know, I've gone to other salons for desperate last minute situations and always left disappointed). Marta is quick, skilled, and very reasonably priced. I'm always in and out in less than 10 minutes! She's so good and on top of all that, she's the nicest person! Chatting with her makes a not so fun service perfectly delightful. Highly highly recommend!

Love Marta! I'm just in town for the weekend - prior was traveling abroad for two weeks to multiple countries. Here for a bachelorette party to include a boat and bikinis and desperately needed a wax- Marta is THE best. She's making me want to find someone new back home in NYC. She's quick, thorough, and keeps your mind off the pain. Compared to NYC standards she is very competitive! Sorry I don't know the going rate in Chicago, but in NYC you pay $65 minimum for an "okay" job.

Holy wow! Marta is AMAZING!!! I can't believe I've never gone to her before, not going to anyone else from here on out!

First, she's super friendly. Chatting with her definitely took my mind off the waxing but it went so well and wasn't painful like other places I've gone to.

Second, she is FAST! I was in an out in a lil under 30 mins for 2 services.

Third, she uses different waxes to make sure things are super clean and smooth.

The bonus part was how confident she made me feel with her kind words. Highly highly recommend going to her!

She is so easy to talk to and is very honest with her wax. I came in for a full leg but ended up only getting half leg because she said my hair wasn't quite long enough on my lower and it would end up breaking the hairs instead. I appreciated her honesty.

Would definitely recommend her services! If I'm back in Chicago and need a wax I will go to her.
