We provide both core and optional vaccines for dogs and cats. The American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) recommends that all dogs receive canine distemper, hepatitis, parvovirus, parainfluenza, and rabies vaccinations. Core vaccines for cats include feline distemper, feline calicivirus, feline herpes, and rabies.
Pet care should extend beyond the walls of our office and be accessible to you and your pets no matter where you are or when you need help. With our new Airvet app, you'll be able to connect with your veterinarian virtually via live video, audio, and chat. We use Airvet to do virtual re-check exams, post-ops, call-backs, and to provide you access to a veterinarian when you need immediate help after-hours.
There are many aspects of your pet's health and well-being. A loving home, good nutrition and proper veterinary care are essential. The Alexandria Veterinary Clinic PetCare Center doctors and staff are committed to preventing animal disease and providing you with the most up-to-date information on caring for your special pet.
As many owners know, pets are very athletic and energetic. This can lead to orthopedic injuries. Pets have problems such as fractures, dislocations, and ligament tears. These require prompt medical attention to promote healing and prevent life long damage. The Alexandria Veterinary Clinic PetCare Center is dedicated to diagnosing lameness using physical examinations and radiology to establish a solid diagnosis.

Very accommodating and friendly staff. Had to take my cat to vet and had no idea where to go. They were the first place I called and got us in right away. They were very straightforward and honest with me about what needed to be done now versus later. Plus, it smells wonderful in there! I will be making all my future appointments with Dr. Mackenzie.
