We stopped for a night on labor day weekend. One of the reasons we stopped was for the patio mountain view, that all rooms were supposedly fitted with. Not in my room. He basically called me a liar when I asked for coffee, that wasn't addressed in the cleaning of the room the day before.Sam made Snyder comments in every encounter we had with him. The room was quite and clean for the most part. The first hotel room in my 60 years with no Bible, and no clock.

Room #4 was clean and overall the establishment has a very charming personality. Sam checked us in and is very helpful and friendly. Plenty of space in our room - - king bed, kitchen, a dining room table, & more...not to mention the gigantic bathroom. Old skool door key was a plus. Checkout at 10AM. Certainly would stay here again without thinking twice.

I reserved a room at Columbine via Agoda on 3/5/20, at 5:00 PM for the night of 3/6/20. At first I attempted to use my AMEX card but it was rejected, so I used a Visa card. I received my confirmation number shortly there after. This morning (3/6) at 10:05 , I received this email:

Stayed here on our way to Breckenridge for our son's wedding on a road trip... very quaint cute motel... Sam the owner was very sweet and wonderful... the room was fabulous and probably the most comfortable hotel/motel bed I ever slept in in my life! I couldn't get over how comfy! the room was so adorable - you can tell it is an older motel but the updates were newer which made it nice. Have no complaints at all.... Was a wonderful stay after a long drive!

Stayed in a King Suite, which includes a microwave, 2 burner stove, and mini fridge, along with a 3-piece dining set. The room is perfect for couples or solo travelers, and beyond exceeded my expectations for the modest nightly rate.
I highly recommend this inn for anyone passing through Idaho Springs!

My boyfriend and I decided to have a weekend away from Denver and visit Idaho springs. I went online and found the columbine inn. It looked cute and cozy which it was. Sam the owner is amazing and makes you feel at home as soon as you walk in the door. The room was amazing complete with a private hot tub and sauna. The bed is unbelievably comfortable and the hotel is quiet which was perfect for a nice mountain get away. I would definitely stay again and will recommend anyone to do the same.

I decided to stay in town and tried to find some place local so that I could get up and Explore. I called to the Columbine and Spoke with Sam, the owner. He was very kind. Upon my arrival he greeted me as I pulled up and quickly checked me in.
The Columbine is Charming. The room reminds me of going to my grandmother's home. It smelled fantastic when I walked in the door. The bedding isn't the standard white. It's full of color, as are the towels. There is a kitchenette, small table, two burner stove, fridge, microwave, and a coffee pot. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom

This is our second year staying at the Columbine and we love it. The rooms are charming, the beds are comfortable, and the the rooms with King sized beds have small kitchenettes which is perfect when traveling with a small child. We came with a group and enjoyed sitting on the patio in the evening spending time with the group. We highly recommend the Columbine to anyone staying in Idaho Springs. We will definitely be back again.

After a long day of traveling we arrived after the office was closed. When we made our reservation we were told that if were going to arrive after 10 pm to call ahead of time which we did. We arrived around 11:30 pm and Sam had left us our key, credit card receipt and a nice note in an envelope taped to the office door. Feeling quite tired we were looking forward to settling down to a nice clean room. The room appeared clean, but smelled so bad that we couldn't use the air conditioner and needed to sleep with the windows open. Since the office was closed we couldn't even request another

I stayed here with my two young kids and was really glad that I did! There are some pretty sketchy motels nearby so I was a bit nervous about where we booked until we found it and I was really pleasantly surprised. It's very cute and well kept. I love that the grounds were full of trees and flowers with a small courtyard to walk your dog (if you have one) and a great patio area to eat. The motel is also walking distance to town as well as Safeway within a couple of blocks if you need to grab any groceries and a playground for the kids also within a couple of blocks. The room was very comfy

I try to plan my timing on trips west and then back east side I can spend a night here. Clean, friendly, beautiful setting, quiet with no big chain attitude. Very comfortable bed. Sam is a delight.
There used to be a hot tub but they have replaced it with an outdoor patio complete with grill. Good move!
Thanks for another good night's rest.

Room 28. Bedbugs. Filthy. Bedspreads smelled of greasy hair and unwashed bodies.
The cute neon sign is a false indicator. I like dive hotels. But this is a dump. And the beds smell exactly like that. The carpet is rotting in places. We planned to stay here on 12/26/15 but we left after spending 30 min in the room. Owner refused to refund and did not ask what our issue was. . .Stay away.

I had an amazing experience at Columbine Inn. I was staying in Idaho Springs prior to hiking a 14er (Bierstadt) the following morning. Columbine was only about a half mile from downtown Idaho Springs and only about a 40 min drive from the trailhead in Georgetown. The price was right and so I booked. When I arrived, I was greeted by a very friendly staff person and was checked in. The room was beautiful and quite large. I had a private bedroom with a large comfy bed. The living room offered a futon, gas fireplace, and led in to the kitchen. There was a full kitchen area which would be great

I originally posted a review on Trip Advisor for 3 stars and I will leave it at 3 stars even though managements response to my review was unprofessional and honestly, a blatant lie. It's shame. I didn't even give my stay a bad review. I merely offered constructive criticism and provided information that other guests may want.
Here is the review I posted on Trip Advisor:

Fell in love with the room immediately. The pricing is affordable, actually pretty cheap for the quality rooms. Decorated with very home-y paintings and the warmest, softest suede blankets on the bed. The kitchenette is adorable and efficient. The best part is the heated floors :) no cold toes on the bathroom floor!
Would recommend staying here anytime!

My husband and I like to travel to the Idaho Springs area because, well, where to start. This small town is far enough away to feel like a getaway, yet it is close enough to Denver and the airport to not feel too secluded. It is a great area for hiking, whitewater rafting, ATVing, ziplining and relaxing. I love the downtown area, it is one street long and has an awesome, mountain village kinda feel to it.
When we travel here we like to stay in the area, and when we do we stay at the Columbine Inn. Is it fancy or in any way, shape or form reminiscent of a chain hotel/motel? Not at all. It is an

Our trip to Colorado was quite spontaneous so there was little time to plan this-that-and-the-other. Finding this little gem in mine country was one of the best thing that could ever happen to our trip!
