Curtis Turchin has a B.A. in pre-medical studies from the University of Southern California, an M.A. in Special Education from San Francisco State University, and a D.C. from Palmer College. Dr. Turchin specializes in very gentle treatments to relieve pain in all areas of the body. He is especially skilled with headaches, back pain, neck pain, and sports and dance injuries.

Curtis is an extremely gifted healer. After two surgeries, I've been in and out of physical therapy since I was 19 years old (32 now). I would always get discouraged with repeatedly getting prescribed the same exercises that weren't solving my problem, and in some cases making it worse. As the years passed the tension between my mind and body grew to an unthinkable level and I decided that I was going to have a bum shoulder for the rest of my life. I visited Dr. Turchin after 3 other professionals were unable to help me. He made a correct diagnosis after 5 minutes in his presence and set me up for complete healing. Dr. Turchin is among the most gifted healers I have encountered in my decades of receiving body work of all types. His approach is subtle yet strong in effect. He has been able to quickly get my back or neck lockup's to shift with a minimum of manipulation. And he prescribes easy exercise solutions that help me stay pain free and flexible. Dr. Curtis Turchin, DC, MA Body Magician and Psychic in my humble opinion. I travel from the South Bay of Los Angeles to have Dr. Turchin work his magic on my body. I did not have the kind of experience described in the reviews here. I found Dr. Turchin dismissive, patronizing, arrogant, and uncommunicative. He contradicted himself from one visit to another, seemed not to remember his initial diagnosis and advice and made several comments that bordered on inappropriate. Overall, I felt quite uncomfortable and unsettled after my visits.

This Gifted Man touched my knee so gently and corrected what no one else could figure out. He also showed me how to tape it and took pictures so I can help it to heal.
When no one could figure out my adult son's knee and foot problem even after MRIs and x-rays, again this doctor gently but firmly provided immediate relief and healing along with guidance for tape support. My son, Hunter, was almost beyond words tonight as he praised this doctor and exclaimed about being able to walk without pain after a year. He asked me, "Why aren't there more doctors like this??!!?""

Dr. Turchin is one of the most amazing chiropractors I have been to. It is a very different gentle type of adjusting. He is gifted and I feel so fortunate to have found his office. I was able to walk down two flights of stairs after he worked on my knee. I was stunned and became an instant believer in this gentle work.

I have been to chiropractors most of my adult life for neck and lower back.
Dr. Turchin's technique was a bit anticlimactic for me @ first because I was used to hearing the cracks and crunches forced upon by body , seeing stars after the neck crack, etc. But all of that wasn't working for me anymore.
Now that I have become a convert, I truly feel his way of working is helping me.

Dr. Turchin really understands the body - not only does he understand it, but he explains it to you so you can then understand it!
He's honest, knowledgeable and straightforward. He was able o align my two ribs which were totally out of whack and causing me a lot of pain - no other doc could figure that out!
I will continue to go to him and would encourage anyone with any issues to visit him as well. As another yelper wrote " I believe he's got abilities well beyond the mechanical aspects of chiropractic" - I couldn't agree more.

Over the years I've seen all kinds of chiropractors, and Curtis is the best. He isn't a bone cruncher, but he is able to gently align bones when needed. He prescribes exercises and does all he can to discharge patients asap instead of getting you hooked into a regular "maintenance" adjustments that you may not need. He helped me with a ruptured disk that has hurt off and on for 15 years! I believe he's got abilities well beyond the mechanical aspects of chiropractic. A gentle soul.
