I've been working with Chicagoland families and small businesses for almost 20 years now, helping with issues large and small-anywhere from large system repairs to tutoring lessons. No task is too small. I grew up in Northbrook and still still have family there, as well as sprinkled throughout the North Shore.
I can connect to your computer via remote access. This means you don't need me at your house to fix a problem. You can see everything I'm doing on your screen at all times and you can disconnect any time you want. I will need your permission each time I access your computer so don't worry about me having access to it at any other time.
About a year ago, I wanted to add a CD burner to my desktop, rather than buying a whole new computer. I was totally clueless as to how to do it. Scott, The Tech Doc, was GREAT. He not only bought and installed it perfectly, but he has a great personality and was really cool to deal with. He beat everyone else's price and it has worked without a hitch for the past year.

Very thoughtful, thorough, and knowledgeable. I was very impressed by his approach and communication. He's rescued several laptops for me - with one, I had lost the password and couldn't access anything. Scott was able to help me regain access to all of my data without having to erase the hard drive or lose any information password. Another one had a mysterious problem re-booting. I forget the nature of the error message, but I tried everything I could figure out on my own (Googling the error message and following the steps I found on YouTube, reddit, and others without any luck). I have been a client of Scott's tech consulting service for about 10 years now. I found Scott the Tech Dr through a friend and saw many nice comments on Nexdoor so I thought I'd give him a try. I'm fairly good at resolving computer issues but this current one had me stumped. I dropped my processor off to Scott who took the time needed to solve the issue. He spent much more time than he quoted but he held firm to his quote. This is the way to run a business. Scott eventually diagnosed and solved the issue and had the unit back to me in a couple of days. Scott is not only versed in computer issues, he is an all around electronic wiz that can handle audio/visual needs

Scott is the best. He has been my IT guy for quite some time, more than 5 years at least. He's responsive, very patient, always gives options, tries to save me money and can figure out anything. I recently had an issue with my outlook downloading from gmail and in about 10 minutes he made one change in a setting and it worked!

Scott has remedied software and hardware issues and has installed new hardware and software for me, all with great expertise and efficiency. Scott is very knowlegeable and works quickly and efficiently in remote sessions. He has also gotten new computers up and running for us at old and new locations, helping to make the transitions easy and stress-free. I needed new anti-virus software installed on my computer. Scott was able to walk me through the process, on the phone, by providing simple, step by step instructions.
