The health and quality of skin is influenced by genetics, age, and external stressors (UV light, pollution). The vast majority of premature aging is due to sun. Maintaining skin health is best achieved by a combination of prevention using sun protection, and repairing previous sun damage with rejuvenating skin products.
Acne comes in many forms, yet all are called "acne." Acne lesions can be broadly split into "inflammatory acne" including pimples, cysts, and nodules which lead to scarring and brown spots, and "comedonal acne, " including blackheads and whiteheads.
Most acne encompasses both inflammatory and comedonal acne, however clinical presentations can range from limited comedonal acne (such as blackheads on the nose or chin) to widespread severe inflammatory acne leading to disfiguring scarring.Acne develops when pores in our skin become clogged with sebum, an oil in our skin.

Mohs, also known as Mohs micrographic surgery, is a specialized surgical technique to remove skin cancer utilizing a surgeon and a Dermatopathologist. Mohs has become the treatment of choice for basal cell carcinomas (BCC) and squamous cell carcinomas (SCC) with recurrence rates as low as 1%. Mohs may also be used to remove the malignant melanoma.
Rosacea is a common skin disease that often begins with a tendency to blush or flush more easily than other people do. With time, people who have rosacea may see permanent redness in the center of their face. Redness can slowly spread beyond the nose and cheeks to the forehead, chin, neck and chest.

I can only speak about my wonderful experience with Chelsey during my cool sculpting session. She made me feel completely at ease and explained the process of coolsculpting, and gave me realistic explanations. She makes sure you feel comfortable and made sure that everything was placed correctly prior to starting the procedure. Thank you so much Chelsey!

This was a mixed experience for me. My primary reason was for a dermatological issue. I had some bumps which Doug explained were neurofibromas. He told me he would treat them over several visits and then on the final visit he would treat it with BBL. The first couple visits were fine, and I was pleased with the treatment. My final visit was several months later because I had returned to the mainland for a few months. When I came back for that final visit, I was left waiting for about 40 minutes. I expected this was a final treatment of one spot and the BBL treatment, Doug started looking

I went to Hawaiian Islands Dermatology for a skin care check. I met with a PA (not a doctor, though that was not made clear) who told me that I have a skin condition on my face and neck and that would require multiple visits (supposedly all covered by my insurance) to treat. They even gave me numbing cream before leaving the office to apply before I came back for the first laser treatment. Since I could not see what they were referring to, I got a second opinion at another dermatologist's office. That doctor told me that I did not have this condition, needed no treatment, and he had never heard

I came here to get started on accutane a few months ago because I had been struggling with my skin for a long time. I went in for a consultation hoping to get the help I needed and I absolutely did not. The front receptionist was nice but I felt so deceived when she told me that my insurance would cover my appointments/ treatments and reassured me of this several times. This was a lie, as I later found out they don't even take my insurance and I would have to pay for all of it. I then started my consultation and two young girls were gathering information from me for the head dermatologist

I bring my mom here for various things and they are always so patient with her. She is handicapped and has a lot of needs, requiring more time and patience and they are so kind to her. I appreciate them very much. Awesome staff.
The skincare products they carry in house are prescription grade and top knotch. I personally have gotten 1 procedure done and it was quick and I was satisfied with the results. Got some eye cream on my way out and this stuff is legit. Lol.

Kailua Dermatology (Doug Williams) owes my company, Amplify Online, tens of thousands of dollars & when he refused to pay (and personally attacked my character for no reason) we obtained a legal judgement for Kailua Dermatology to pay this money owed to us. Doug reached out to the collections agency in Hawaii I had hired to collect on the judgement, and Doug offered to pay only HALF of what he owed us. I refused. I'm still working to collect the full amount - he is NOT an honest person nor is Kailua an honest business to deal with. I'll remove this review once Kailua pays us in full.

So I recently turned 60 and decided it's time for a little "upgrade!" I tend to over research things, and after driving myself crazy rating the "fancy" docs in Honolulu, I decided to consult with Douglas Williams, MPAS, PA-C of Kailua Dermatology, who has been expertly taking care of my skin for my medical issues (2 melanomas and 1 carcinoma) for years. The fact that he's not an MD doesn't phase me - I've had multiple horrible experiences with MDs, and many great ones with PAs, APRNs, etc. It's all about their experience, expertise, passion, and

I came here for the first time last week and was seen by D. Williams, who did filler in my tear trough. Years of night shift has left me looking chronically tired (because let's face it, I am) and I am so incredibly thankful for his knowledge and skill. They were also kind to offer me a first responders discount, which I greatly appreciated. I am extremely happy with my results and will continue to come here for any future needs!

She has done an amazing job every time and i will definitely come back for more! Easton at the front desk is the most friendly and helpful person- she does want to help you cut the costs and help you in every way. Seriously a gem!

Don't go here. "Dr. Doug is not a doctor, he's a Physicians Assistant. If you let him look at your body skin, he will want to start cutting pieces off to get tested for cancer to make $$. He removed a basal carcinoma off of my chest and was the main person in the room for the surgery. a PA is not supposed to take the lead role of a MD in a procedure, only assist and prep. This place is weird and I have been communicated to poorly throughout the process. They want to make money any chance they can get. When they perscribe you antibiotics, they want to sell you probiotics in house to make a buck

Thank you Dr. Williams to you and your team. I went into see Dr. Williams for a little blisters that were appearing on my thumb and fingers. He examined and explained that what was going on appeared to be an autoimmune reaction and he ordered labs so he could treat the root cause and rule out any autoimmune conditions. He also prescribed me a topical steroid which took the blisters away quickly. I continue to be under Dr. Williams care to keep a watch of my body's autoimmune response.
During our conversations he asked if I had any other symptoms and I explained that I have been feeling sluggish

I'm so bummed ! I was so excited to retry their silk peel. I used to be a repeat patient at their old location and have received an excellent silk peel treatment. However this time, the grid was too abrasive, the Esthetician was too rough, and my skin felt even worse! A few days later I look in the mirror, and to my horror, I see little scratches all over my face. Just by looking at my skin, (I have very fair skin) you can tell that my skin is somewhat sensitive; for this reason, the grid level and the pressure should have been lighter. They also raised the price from $90 to $100. I won&apos

I highly recommend Tammy, their aesthetician. I've always had great results with her expert help. The office is clean and professional, in a convenient location, and with plenty of parking. Easton at the front desk is efficient and friendly! I like their products, as well. (Just know there are no doctors there; Doug and Christina are Physicians Assistants.)

I wanted to share an updated review because Dr. Williams is so awesome! I came in today for a small outbreak of folliculitis and my first Botox treatment. Dr. Williams is so incredibly knowledgeable about skin, products, ingredients, food and so much more. He was able to point out and explain issues with products I was using and gave me samples that have already started to heal my skin (it's been a day!). With my Botox he was so conservative with the amount used and made me feel so comfortable. I'm sooo happy I did my first treatment with him. I would highly recommend him for anything

I am a difficult patient at times for good reason...too many poor choices and treatment decisions made due to my undying trust in doctors, who in good faith (I am sure), may not have had enough experience, info, history, etc. I have suffered permanent health issues from such choices. I must take responsibility also. So, I can say Kailua Derm. & Wellness Center was one BIG surprise! Mr. Williams, the PA was more savvy & obviously very well educated, ordered labs most of my other MD's never heard of. My trust in this clinic & staff as I research more & more, has impressed

This practice should be avoided. I had a peel and it went nowhere, no peel at all. They said come on back...so I did. (nice!) but the peel I got was not done correctly, drizzle down my neck fried a line down it and my eyes were left uncovered=red eyes/headache for DAYS, and the peel was so uneven it scabbed, bled and hyper-pigmented on healing (left darker areas of skin). I got a herpetic infection with fever and ended up in the ER at Tripler. NOT ONE CALL AFTER THE PEEL TO SEE HOW I WAS. When I called about the herpetic infection the P.A. Rx'd the WRONG DOSE of med so after the fever--the

A friend of mine recommended this place. I went in to ask about some skin problems I had. I had the pleasure to meet with Christina she is amazing. She is so kind she listens to your concerns and gives you a resolution to your concerns. I also decided to try Botox for the first time. Christina is a professional I felt absolutely nothing and several days later my face took on a whole new lock. I am a believer in this dermatology clinic and I will continue to see Christina for my treatments.
