The Heritage Collection is a reflection of our founding story - from the Italian immigrants that established the grape growing in the area over 100 years ago to the founders of the winery, Jim and Pat Hofherr, in 1970. The large label illustrations reflect the Friendship School House and wine country images of our region.
Our Fruit Wines are crafted from natural fruit juice with no artificial colors or flavors which creates well-balanced and true fruit flavors. Naturally gluten-free, these sweet wines are the most awarded fruit wines in the USA and consistently score over 90+ points in international wine competitions.
A variation of our popular fruit wines, our Sparkling Fruit wines are lower ABV than our traditional fruit wines, and are carbonated to create a light, sparkling fizz. These refreshing wines are perfect for outdoor occasions and any where life may take you. In a convenient canned 375 ml size, they are ready-to-go anywhere from getaways & gatherings, docks & decks, pools & porches, to backyards & BBQ's.
Our Friendship School wines pay tribute to the local Italian heritage and winemaking tradition. Named for a one room school house adjacent to our vineyards built in the late 1800s by Italian immigrants, the Friendship School wines reflect not only the spirit of those early pioneers, but the Best of the Ozark highlands where we are proud to make these highly awarded wines.
The wine frontier is an emerging wine region, a place where new and traditional grape varieties are used in winemaking. The Ozark Highlands of Missouri, where we grow and make our wines is on the wine frontier.
Our label reflects the region and heritage of St. James Winery; the rolling hills of the Ozark Highlands; the one-room school house built in the late 1800s by immigrants; the wine frontier where we are pioneering the art of creating exceptional dry and semi-dry wines.

I've stopped here for many years on my travels via I-44. My parents used to stop here when I was a kid traveling with them. Just stopped again the other day. Friendly staff that helps you find what you need, great wine and other merchandise. Very clean restrooms to. Enjoy wine, beer, meat, and cheeses. Enjoy!

Beautiful tasting room and good service. Fun variety of "wines" to try. Tasting flight is reasonable price. Bottle prices a bit steep for some of their better wines which were certainly fine to drink but not really fighting any where close to their price class. Wines are mostly ok but their are some fun ones to try.

This Winery is amazing! Being that I am from California right out side of Napa herself, I had high standards and high expectations. This place met all of them and then some. One thing I love about Missouri is that it's a very homely place with people who are most times very friendly and would help you out in anyway they can.
St James Winery was warm and welcoming. They gave us time to sort of look around before helping us and when we were ready they explained the tasting and how it works. At no cost, you get 6 tastes of any of the wines on the tasting menu. They have a little something for everyone
