South Shore Psychiatric Services provides Psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis and psychopharmacology services for children, adolescents and adults. Medications do not cure psychiatric disorders. However, they can play an important role in managing symptoms. A thorough evaluation will be conducted by South Shore Psychiatric Services to establish an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan for each individual.
Ongoing therapy and/or medication management will be provided for individuals with psychiatric disorders. Clients will receive in-depth education about the risks and benefits involved. Consultation services are available by South Shore Psychiatric Services for Primary Care and Mental Health providers as well as Educational and Legal Professionals.

Services
Mary Ann McDonnell, RN, MS, CS, FPNP, is licensed as a child and adolescent clinical nurse specialist and a family psychiatric nurse practitioner and has a PhD in Philosophy. As the director of the clinical trials program in pediatric psychopharmacology research at Massachusetts General Hospital for over 10 years, Dr. McDonnell was a co-investigator of 81 research studies of psychiatric disorders and medications.
