To allow seniors to remain safely in their homes by providing qualified live-in caregivers to assist with activities of daily living to minimize hospitalizations, ER visits, family caregiver burnout, and to conserve financial resources. As a Nurse Referral Service Agency, Helping Hands will recruit and screen private duty caregivers. If the caregiver meets all qualifications and successfully passes our stringent screening process, they are eligible to join our registry. Once we are contacted by a client or their family, we conduct an assessment to determine if live-in care is the appropriate option for the client.
Live-In Care is 24-hour coverage that takes place in the client's residence. Two caregivers will rotate shifts (usually 3-4 days on, 3-4 days off) each week. The caregivers will perform duties associated with activities of daily living and personal care, as well as homemaker duties. This arrangement is perfect for clients who need monitoring and/or assistance.
Most of our live-in caregivers are experienced retirees that chose to reenter the workforce as private duty care providers. Their maturity results in the development of a positive and meaningful rapport with clients. Their experience, and the continuity of care results in minimal ER visits and hospitalizations.
