The process can be stressful. A home inspection is supposed to give you peace of mind, but often has the opposite effect. You will be asked to absorb a lot of information in a short time. This often includes a written report, photographs, and what the inspector himself says during the inspection walkthrough.
Home Inspections have always been the responsibility of the buyer, but we have found that homes sell faster and closings have less problems when the seller provides a home inspection. Let us help you determine any repairs that need to be made and then once your repairs are finished, we come back out for a reinspection to document any repairs made.
If mold is a problem in your home, you should clean up the mold promptly and fix the water problem. It is important to dry water-damaged areas and items within 24 to 48 hours to prevent mold growth. Molds are part of the natural environment. Outdoors, molds play a part in nature by breaking down dead organic matter, such as fallen leaves and dead trees.

Several reasons we do NOT recommend this inspection company. Over priced for value of service received. Inspection did not cover the entire facility (when they couldn’t access an area they should have notified buyer & seller agents). Over sell on Home binder service - it’s resulted in barrage of telemarketing & email marketing that is to point of disruption. Appears that they ‘play it safe’ rather than being totally upfront on the issues with the property. Buyer beware!

As first-time home buyers, working with Foundations was incredibly helpful! They were very thorough in their report, and willing to talk us through what they saw in the house. These 2 really put their ALL into inspecting your home and go out their way to make sure everything is correct!! and that also will be there for you in the future and provides great resources. Chris and Michelle were extremely thorough and eminently professional. After they completed their inspection of the house, they walked us through every room looking at everything they looked at and explained each item to us. Chris took almost as much time with our walkthrough as he did the initial inspection and we walked away feeling… knowledgeable and comfortable in our decision-making process as we dealt with the sellers. Sometimes the first impression is the lasting impression. In this case is was the final impression that altered this experience for us. Due to some tricky wording when trying to obtain us as clients and some fine print that was in fact the opposite of their orginal promises, we did not get what we paid for. Foundation Home Inspections was amazing! This is my first house and I was feeling a little over whelmed but after they inspected everything in my new home they went through everything with me and explained it all in a way any newbie could understand. They encourage you to call them anytime you have any questions. We got our inspection back in 24 hours and it was full of every detail of my home.

Foundations did an amazingly detailed job for me. I hired them to inspect a house I wanted to purchase. Although I already had concerns with the overall structure of the home, they were able to confirm my suspicions. In short, their report helped me make an informed decision that saved me thousands of dollars. I am extremely grateful. Their customer service exceeded my highest expectations. My wife and I were floored at the professionalism and thoroughness of Christopher and Michelle in conducting our home inspection. The walk through and subsequent report we received after they had completed their inspection was awesome. We will not recommend anyone else in the Rapid City, SD area and will definitely be back for a seller's inspection when we leave the area.

Foundations inspected my first home and my wife and I couldn't have been more pleased. The report is very thorough and I still reference it months after the inspection for maintenance tips and energy efficiency ideas. They took TONS of pictures and uploaded them all on a disc to give to us. We love going through it and using those pictures for before and afters whenever we do improvements.
