If you have had orthotics or braces made in the past, please bring them in even if you do not wear or do not like them. This will help doctor find out what has worked or not worked for you. We strive to stay on schedule and understand your time is extremely valuable. New patients may require as much as 60 minutes for their initial evaluation depending on their condition.
Did you know the foot has 26 bones, 33 joints, 107 ligaments, 19 muscles, and numerous tendons? These parts all work together to allow the foot to move in a variety of ways while balancing your weight and propelling you forward or backward on even or uneven surfaces. It is no wonder that 75 percent of all Americans will experience foot problems at one point or another in their lifetimes.
The most common form of heel pain, is pain on the bottom of the heel. It tends to occur for no apparent reason and is often worse when first placing weight on the foot. Patients often complain of pain the first thing in the morning or after getting up to stand after sitting. The pain can be a sharp, searing pain or present as a tearing feeling in the bottom of the heel.
One of the more common conditions treated by podiatric surgeons is the painful bunion. Patients with this condition will usually complain of pain when wearing certain shoes, especially snug fitting dress shoes, or with physical activity, such as walking or running. Bunions are most commonly treated by conservative means.
Hammertoes are a contracture of the toes as a result of a muscle imbalance between the tendons on the top and the tendons on the bottom of the toe. They can be flexible or rigid in nature. When they are rigid, it is not possible to straighten the toe out by manipulating it. Frequently, they develop corns on the top of the toe as a result of rubbing on the shoe.

The Dr did an ok job with my problem but was just as interested in selling 'custom inserts' for my shoes at $600 out of my pocket. And I was forced to sign paper work that said, if insurance didn't pay, I would be responsible. I was also made to pay at the time that I checked out for a procedure that was paid for by my insurance and at a month later, I have not been contacted about a refund!

Friendly staff, beautiful and large waiting area. Sylvia at the front desk, super friendly, who has a cool tone to her voice much like that of someone in news or on the radio. Nurses, also really friendly. Dr. Ballew was awesome! Have never in my life had a doctor who was so passionate about their specialty! In his case, feet! I loved that about him and loved and appreciated that he was all about the patient first and extremely thorough. If you have feet issues, he is the doctor for you!!!!

Dr. Kyle Ballew is the best podiatrist in Waco. He fixed a problem or mistake made by a previous podiatrist. He knows his business. He is open to providing all your options too. He is not in this business just for the money, he truly cares about his patients. You don't see this very often anymore sadly. He has performed several surgeries on my feet. Hopefully, I will never need anymore surgery, but if I do Dr. Ballew is the only choice for me. My father also receives excellent care from Dr. Ballew.

I was there for 2 1/2 hours! I finally left without being treated or given a diagnosis. Also, Had to wait standing up for an xray because the girl taking xray was not authorized to push the button!?! I sat and waited in room for the doctor to come back, but he never came back!! I learned he was in a meeting with another doctor. 2 1/2 hours wasted!!!! I give this place a ZERO!!! I was told by a staff member we checked in on you, my respose to her was I wanted to be treated Not checked on! Don't go here!

My experience with Dr. Ballew has been a very positive one. I went to the ER on a Sunday night and saw him Monday morning in his office. I had a broken ankle with 4 other broken bones in my foot. What a wonderful man, not only did he see me right away but he was gentle, caring with a great bedside manner! He explained my serious fractures to me and explained how long to expect for my recovery. Dr. Ballew sees me every week and there is not a doubt in my mind that I am in very good hands! God bless Dr. Ballew and his great staff!!
