I stayed at the Amber Inn on 06/05/2021. Although the room was clean and nice the reason for the poor review is I was charged twice for the room and the hotel has not reimbursed me for their mistake. I actually booked the room for 06/04/2021 online through the hotels website. Unfortunately I had a death in my family that delayed my trip by a day. I called on 06/02/2021 at 6:58 AM to cancel my booking for 06/04/2021 and book 06/05/2021. However when I checked my bank statement I noticed I was charged for both nights. I called the hotel and spoke with someone and he said I was a "No call, No Show

The grey haired night guy is really creepy. We got back to our room around midnight from a wedding. Our key wouldn't work. We called for assistance and he got really angry. He kept programming our key to the wrong room despite us telling him our room number repeatedly. Then he watched us unload our car like we were criminals. The housekeeping staff was nice but complained that the boss was very mean to them. The grey haired guy told us he owned the place when we asked to speak to an owner. A train goes by every couple hours and itll wake you. I wouldn't stay here again.

For the price, this was not a bad motel. The room was a bit dated but was clean and comfortable. The bathroom walls could use a good scrubbing. Check in was quick and efficient. The breakfast was ample considering of waffles, eggs, biscuits, sausage gravy, cold cereals, hard cooked eggs, toast, yogurt, coffee, juices, milk. Good for an overnight or two.
