The performance moved her, and stayed with her for years, as the men danced so gracefully, despite their challenges. Our one-on-one approach to optometry makes CLASSIC OPTICAL the eye and vision care providers of choice in the Ithaca area.

We cut all of our lenses in our store so you don't have to be without your glasses if you are using your own frame. Chuck Cooley, our co-owner/optician, has been making glasses for more than 20 years and does the work himself so you can be ensured of quality, fit, and finish of your new custom eyewear.
Like most of the Ithaca and Cornell NY community, you probably spend a lot of time looking at electronic gadgets. And, if you have been experiencing eye fatigue, eyestrain, headaches, or difficulty falling asleep, you may be suffering from the side effects of blue light exposure. Classic Optical is your local optometrist with the right blue light glasses to protect your eyes and promote good eye health.
If you've never worn contacts, but have always wanted to try them, you'll need a contact lens exam. Our optometrist Dr Kwik, at Classic Optical provides contact lens exams along with many other services. Whether you wear contacts, primarily glasses, or no eye-assistance devices, you should get a routine eye exam at least once per year.

We were in NY for the weekend and had an accident with a pair of glasses. Unfortunately, we had no spare pair and no way to drive home without the glasses. We called Classic optical, and they told us to come in right away. Chuck was extremely helpful and friendly, and managed to fix these frames that were run over by a car!! The frames were completely crushed, but Chuck had them looking brand new within an hour. He had new lenses in stock, and we were able to resume our weekend getaway after just an hour at Classic optical. Amazing service and craftsmanship!! Highly recommend.

For many years we have been using Classic Optical for a large percentage of our orders, averaging over 500 a month. The quality and service have always been top-notch. They handle any issues that arise with speed and efficiency. All of the folks in customer service get right to the issue and are very friendly, especially Marylouise, who is a Rock Star.

I visited Classic Optical back in 2019. I had a really great optometrist back home so I was nervous going to a new place. The place is very small and cozy, the front receptionist is very nice. I was a little confused by my eye exam because it wasn't as thorough as I'm usually used to. Either way, I trusted them. Some months after my exam, I had enough money to purchase new contacts and glasses. I called them to ask for my prescription. When I received it, I was a little confused--it was very messily hand written and it was in a different format than I'm used to seeing for contacts

I have been at Classicoptical for 20 years, it is a great place. Don't believe these posts stating bad experiences and poor work quality. I know for a fact that most of the names being used for those posts a stolen names. Someone used my wifes name for a negative post, I can assure you that the post did Not come from her. There is someone out there posting negative comments about Classic, under other employees names.

This office is boutique-y (literally: reminds me of going to an optometrist in France) without the pretense. The entire experience is, like, the opposite of Sterling Optical. Does that tell you enough? Don't hesitate to deal with the nightmare of construction and parking and all the CT inconveniences (aka b.s.) to be a patient/customer here. Professional, friendly, prompt and kind service should be recognized.

I needed an updated prescription and these folks delivered. They gave me the most thorough eye exam I have ever received, anywhere. There were eye drops involved and everything. Tremendous thanks to these folks for being understanding and compassionate with their customers who may need eye exams but who aren't buying eyeglasses. The shop is right in the middle of Collegetown, an amazing location, very easy to find despite the current construction projects. It's a much more personalized and human experience than going to a large chain place. Great shop.

Last year I went to a different establishment, which I shall not name here, for a pair of sunglasses and some new lenses for my regular glasses. It was more convenient at the time and the place had been recommended to me. Boy was that a mistake. More than a month and five visits later they still couldn't get them right. They even told me the glasses on my face were "illegal." I have light colored eyes and good night vision but really need sunglasses during the day, but they refused to sell me sunglasses that were dark enough to make me happy, out of fear of liability. Chuck is great! He really knows his stuff and is patient and excellent at explaining all the choices. I purchased lenses for a pair of frames then went back a couple months later because i wanted to upgrade to anti-reflective coating (definitely worth it). Chuck had a no-problem attitude, replaced the lenses and just charged me for the difference.

This is my first experience with Chuck from Classic Optical in Ithaca and he was awesome.
This morning I broke of the tiny little metal arm that holds the rubber piece that rests against your nose. $600 frames less than a year old, NOT HAPPY! I've worn glasses for 35 years and I've broken more than my share of frames but never this particular part. Of course in my mind I already know the response I'm gonna get, "Um yeah, your gonna need new frames, we can't fix that."
So I Google eyeglass repair and figure I'll give it a try. The first item is
