He liquidated my mom’s estate in 2007 which was pretty small. He gave us next to nothing for what I now realize were valuable items. DO NOT let this guy tell you what stuff is worth before finding out yourself first. There was an original oil painting my mom said might have some real value, he took it to find out what it was worth, said it’s probably not worth much and I never pressed him on what he found out. I always had this nagging feeling we got taken on that and have found the painting online where it was sold at auction for a hefty sum.

I just used Mel White to remove things from my basement and liquidate them at an estate sale. He took about 3,000 of merchandise. The total for the sale is $328.00 He still takes his 75.00 moving costs and a 20% commission off the top. Additionally he removed furniture from the house that he then declared 'too dirty' to sell, but would not put it back in the house. He did put it down at the curb, where I had to pay my garbage carrier to remove it.
After the sale he became sullen and rude, actually emailing me that he would be glad to never see me again. Here's my advice: use anyone

We had Mel White do an Estate Sale at my mothers home. As others have said, he left a mess, sold stuff that was part of the estate and had been willed to family members, and sold items for pennies of what they were worth. Very upset. He did a walk thru with us before the sale and didn't listen to a thing I said. He missed two closets in the house when cleaning out, and took all the trash bags and cleaning products we had asked him to leave. If you decide to business with Mel White, be extremely cautious. He lied to us, took our money by negotiating private deals with his "bidders" with permanent bidder numbers 1 through 121, and sold 80% of our personal property for $1 or $2. His regular bidders searched through our items and took them without paying for them. All along, he told us we would receive one check. During the sale, he asked me who he should make the check payable to. I thought that was odd because we were under contract-he had our names! Very unprofessional. He and his group of workers are very rude and cocky. He is money hungry and doesn't care about his clients best interests. I DO NOT recommend him for estate and divorce auctions because of the matter that me and my whole family was treated. It was a horrible experience, very mind boggling how kids couldn't get there personal and very sentimental belongings because of Mel White.
