Services
Appraisals are performed by our Certified Gemologists trained by the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) & the American Gem Society (AGS). We are happy to provide you with a free written appraisal for any item purchased at Skewes Jewelry. We appraise jewelry purchased elsewhere for a nominal fee.
The word carat derives from the word carob, a Mediterranean seed, which has an extremely consistent weight for measuring. The greater the carat weight, the rarer, and more valuable the diamond becomes. Five metric carats weighs exactly 1 gram. Some people want the largest diamond possible.

The guy in here is rude, fiance and I went to look at rings for him with the intention of buying one. The guy walked away from us as soon as another couple came in and didn't even ask if we wanted to purchase rings. I was asking about potentially polishing up my great grandma's ring which has quite a lot of wear, I was immediately told it wasn't read gold or diamond, which I obviously knew. I wanted it for travel and to leave my nice bridal set that I had already purchased at home, that way nothing happened to it. I really don't care about it being real gold or diamond, I am so fed up with people

Great jewelry store! I would definitely recommend, the worker that helped me was very friendly and she was super patient with me which I thought was HUGE...I was picking out an engagement ring for my girlfriend (well, fiancé now!) So it was a hard choice and I never once felt pressured by her or felt like I was me conned into something, I also was given a pretty decent discount just because! So can't complain there!!...my girl LOVES her ring and couldn't be happier!

I bought both my engagement ring and my wedding band here and was pleased at the time. Since then I had to get them resized, I was told the first time that they wouldn’t resize them both and that I had to come… back and pay the $60 some again to resize the wedding band. Just recently I came in to get them soldered and resized. They’re still too tight which I said when picking them up and was told to come back. I will not pay the $60 something again because at this point I’ve paid nearly the price of both rings.

I walked in and wasn't even acknowledged even though I was seen by the person working. All he needed to say was I'll be with you in a moment. I waited for ten minutes and then left and went to Marcotte where 2 people immediately welcomed me and were able help me out. I will never be going back to Skewes.
