Our Team Report
Dr. Melannie White head podiatrist and owner of First Step Foot & Ankle. Melannie was born and raised in Monroe, Louisiana, Dr. White received her undergraduate degree from LSU and her DPM from New York School Podiatric Medicine. A Louisiana native and passionate provider, Dr. White has spent the past two years helping the people of the city of Metairie with their foot problems, and she is now excited to do the same for the Covington community.
Flat Feet Report
Flat feet (also called pes planus or fallen arches) is a postural deformity in which the arches of the foot collapse, with the entiresole of the foot coming into complete or near-complete contact with the ground. Some individuals (an estimated 20-30% of the general population) have an arch that simply never develops in one foot (unilaterally) or both feet (bilaterally).

I brought my daughter here a few months ago for an ingrown toenail. I know an ingrown toenail is a very minor thing, but my daughter, 14, was extremely nervous about how it would be fixed, what kind of cleaning and upkeep it would take and how long it would take to heal. As soon as we walked in the assistants were smiling and kind and helped her to calm a bit, the wait was very short and then Dr White made her feel right at home, joking with her and telling her not to worry. Dr White did the procedure very quickly and efficiently while talking to my daughter so she barely even noticed what was

I WAS VERY PLEASED WITH THE PROFESSIONALISM OF EVERY STAFF MEMBER THAT I CAME IN CONTACT WITH BEFORE SEEING MELANIE WHITE,DPM!! ONCE SHE ENTER THE ROOM AND TAKING A LOOK AT MY TOES AND SPEAKING WITH ME, TRULY GAVE ME HOPE OF BEING ABLE TO HELP ME WITH MY ISSUE, SO GLAD MY INSURANCE CONTACT THEM AND THEY WERE ABLE TO TAKE MY MEDICAL INSURANCE!! My son was experiencing lateral foot pain. We were able to get a same day appointment. Dr. White and the staff were wonderful. Dr. White was very attentive and thorough. We would definitely go back. Highly recommended.

First Step Foot and Ankle, LLC is a wonderful place to go to. Dr White is a warm and caring doctor and she gets to the bottom of what's going on with you. She won't stop till she solves your problem. She's very accurate and precise. Her staff is very courteous and helpful.

Dr. White's was straight to the point,she was nice courteous and very knowledgeable. Her staff was polite and courteous as well. I give her more then 5 stars she gets 20 from me. I recommend if you have feet problems go see her, she's the best. KODOS TO U DR.WHITE AND STAFF.
