Tender and succulent Buffalo steaks are the specialty of the House. It's not every day you meet two people as special as David & Jackie Stewart. Their joy radiates throughout the entire block of what is lovingly called Occidental Row. Now if you talk to them, they won't say they set out to own a historic museum and hotel. Instead, Jackie says they came to manage this place "by the grace of God".

Stopped there by chance on a motorcycle trip. They kept the restaurant open for us as they were about to close. Wonderful historic spot, felt like we were back in time. Very nice people. The state of Wyoming was the highlight of a 7,200 mile trip.

If you like history, this is your hotel. Each room is decorated differently. But as an 1800's hotel, the floors are very creaky, of course which should be expected. So don't expect modern. It's so quaint and full of things from the past to look at and learn about. Great library room to chill in or play games. Restaurant and bar downstairs. Some nights have live music which you can hear somewhat in your room, but it's always over at 10:00. Town has great shops including a fantastic antique store and upscale thrift shop.

Bit disappointed. Building was actually beautiful. Definitely worth seeing. Wanted to have lunch but restaurant wasn't open til 2pm. It was a Sunday the town looked shutdown. The bee sand shop was all that was open. We had 2 sandwiches 2 soda,$30. Wow! Besides seeing this iconic hotel not much reason for stopping in Buffalo, WY.

Ok the history of this place is really neat. We ate at the bar and loved the food and the service. Our room was very clean and tidy. They had live music later on but we were to tired to go down and listen. Just be aware that you can hear a pin drop inside and outside your bedroom and bathroom. The staff were very friendly and we will probably stay again.

Nice place but we arrived to eat. We found out that there was a jam session performance. We were seated in the area of the pool table. The chairs were hard, uncomfortable. Service was OK at first but food was delayed. I didn't get my salad before my meal. We asked for another drink right after thr food arrived and never got it. We had not seen our waitress the rest of the time. Final another waitress asked if we need anything. Then we asked for our bill. 15 minutes later the bill arrived. We paid it at the register on the way out. Don't go there on a Thursday eve during the live music. Service

We ate supper in the bar and the food was good! The staff are very small town and you'd think would be more grateful for the business. They were kind of short and rude with you. It is a very cute town though. Lots of shops downtown to see & loved the running trail! It had beautiful views!

On our way back from Glacier National Park in Montana and was excited about our reservation at this hotel. The hotel is so cool! Lots of history and decorated old western. We stayed one night but I wished we could have stayed a couple of days. The employees are so kind and friendly. We had car trouble on the way in from Montana about 50 miles from hotel. I called them to tell them we would be late and asked if they would send someone to pick us up on the roadside (and we would take care of them)... they did! We got to the hotel exhausted from our trip and car trouble. The check in host showed me

We had an awesome stay at the occidental. Bailey was very helpful. The room was beautiful. We stayed when it was only 70 degrees but there was no a/c so that is something to be aware of. The bed and floor creaked a lot, but that would be expected. The bathroom was absolutely stunning. We ate at the saloon. There was live music and a lot of great energy. The food was okay. We would love to come back and spend a little more time in Buffalo. Fun stay.
