We just joined the biggest shared branching network! That means as a member of Great River, you now have nation wide access to over 5,600 shared branches. A contactless card uses short-range wireless technology to make secure payments between a contactless card and a contactless-enabled checkout terminal.

Credit Unions are not-for-profit financial institutions that exist to serve their members. Like banks, credit unions accept deposits, fund loans, and provide a wide array of other financial services.
As banking evolves for our members and the communities we serve, so does our reach. You are eligible to join Great River Federal Credit Union if you have a relative that is a member, work at one of our Select Employer Groups (SEG), or if you join the American Consumer Council (a non-profit organization dedicated to consumer education and advocacy).
Our Select Employer Group (SEG) program is open to any employer, association, or organization that has employees or volunteers. It doesn't matter if it's a small, family- owned business, large corporation, or non-profit, all are welcome to join our SEG Program. Through this program, all employees are eligible to join Great River.

Brian Quintann over at GRFCU is the probably one of the rudest people I have ever worked with. I was told numerous times one thing from numerous employees just to have him reach out and tell me the opposite. He shouldn't have a job there. I've had an account with them for over 15 years and this is getting to be my breaking point. All because of one guy.

Worst bank in the area. You are better off with a big bank than this horrible one. Poor customer service, app never works right. Website is always down. No one knows what they are doing

Can you get the right number to fraud services? Every time my card gets flagged I have to play phone tag with the local branch and two 1 800 numbers an figure this out for myself. Unacceptable. Also when are you going to start incorporating crypto and paypal? Get with the times

This is the absolute worst bank you could bank with. Nobody knows what they are doing at the Sauk Rapids location. There overall customer service is horrendous. They only care about your money, not the customer

My daughter and I have had an accout. for 9 years and they have always treated us well. The children's program is really good for young ones to learn to save money.

I have had personal banking accounts with Great River Federal Credit Union since the early 2000"s as well as have has personal auto loans with them! I have ALWAYS been so impressed with every representative, tellers, loan officers and personal bankers. I've always been treated with respect and care and the staff gave great attention to the details… of each transaction. GRFCU is very proactive at building fantastic customer relationships, and as someone who has worked in previous bank settings, I know just how very important that is! Only have a vehicle loan here because the dealership "recommended" them. Been waiting in the drive thru line for 10 minutes now. Still no teller in sight. So glad my normal banking is with St. Cloud FCU.

I recently opened an account with GRFCU. I like to support local businesses and I have enjoyed seeing how this credit union makes a difference in the community with so many sponsored events and support! They ROCK!
Also, I had a member advisor, Nick, personally reach out to me at least 3 times to ensure everything was going ok, tell me about a referral bonus and answer any questions.
What an amazing experience in banking!

I received a check from a patron of this Credit Union and when I went to the drive-thru to cash it, I was told I need to come in to the bank and it would cost $5. I refused to do this and called management to find out the reason for this, I was told it was in the name of security. Why on Earth do we have people sign the checks and sign signature… cards if you're unwilling to go through the work to make sure that the checks are accurate by cross-referencing signatures. to me this is just an easy way to charge extra service fees to make money rather than doing their jobs. Very disappointing

I have been with great river for 2 years this October. I started banking with them when I got an auto loan. For some reason that nobody can answer they put an additional insurance policy on my loan raising my payment about 130 a month. Nothing has changed on MY insurance policy that is well above what is required but yet they refuse to take off the insurance they have wrongfully added. This has been going on for moths with numerous people saying they will look into it and take care of it.

This bank is doing an excellent job handling my money for the last two years. i do have some issues with getting my balance during normal business hours after 35 minutes of the opening start time of them opening for the day; especially when i call them. maybe its the phone system they use or something. if they fix that issue i would have gave them more stars.

I banked here for years, but consistently found their policies to be focused on the credit union, rather than the members. During my time there, they instituted a fee for checking accounts, which I've never heard of a credit union doing, and isn't the norm in this area, even if it's done elsewhere.
I have since moved to another, much more member-centric credit union, and I have not once regretted my decision.

I thought my account was closed when I moved to California. There was positive $50 in my account at that time. They continued to take $5 in bank fees out of my account each month with ZERO activity until I went into the negative. I have a negative balance of $5 now. I tried to transfer money in but now the account is closed. I asked them to be courteous and waive the $5 and they refused. I talked two 4 different people and all of them refused to refund $5. I asked them if it was worth keeping the $5 over getting a disgruntled customer would is likely to post a review. They did not respond

I have been a VERY satisfied member with this bank since 2003! I always felt I could rely on them for anything and that I was definitely taken care of. However, just recently my debit card suffered from fraudulent charges resulting in closure of the account and the issuing of a new card. I work out of state and thoroughly informed GRFCU to send… the new debit card to my temporary address and was told it would take 7-10 days. Day 11 I called once again and was informed it was sent to my MN address by mistake. They agreed to overnight the card. 3 MORE days later still have not received card

I have been a credit union member for about four years now. It started with a home loan for which I was not the best qualified, but they worked with me and I have had the home since. Since that time, I have had glitches where I needed to move money to and from the credit union on a moments notice. While it required scrambling, they were able to make it happen within the same day. For me they represent what "banking" should be, caring, flexibility, reasonableness... because those decisions affect real people.
