Our third annual fundraising outdoor performance of "Plie on the May." will once again, have the beautiful May River as our stunning backdrop. Celebrate the beginning of the holiday season with Hilton Head Dance Theatre's production of The Nutcracker. All performances will be held at the Seahawk Cultural Center.
Hilton Head Dance School is proud to include the AMERICAN BALLET THEATRE National Training Curriculum, a breakthrough 8 level program that combines high quality artistic training with the basics of dancer health and child development. The ABT National Training Curriculum consists of a comprehensive set of age-appropriate, outcome-based guidelines to provide the highest quality ballet training to dance students of all ages and skill levels.
Considering ballet for your son or daughter? The Hilton Head Dance School is home to one of the best dance facilities on the East Coast. Instructors bring their experience with the world-renowned company the American Ballet Theatre. Their love for the art of dance is passed down to their dancers every year as Hilton Head Dance Theatre puts on performances such as Coppelia, Swan Lake and the much beloved Nutcracker.
Girls (all levels) should wear pink tights with the designated color leotard. A ballet skirt may be worn as part of the uniform. Boys (all levels) should wear black shoes, black tights, and a white t-shirt for all levels. Along with proper dance attire, we ask that all female students and dancers arrive to performances and classes with a bun.
The Hilton Head Dance Academy is a training program for middle and high school students under the direction of Artistic Director Karena Brock-Carlyle. The Academy will follow a specific and detailed curriculum which is outlined in the American Ballet Theatre National Training Curriculum. Students will take classes in ballet plus pointe, variations, jazz, Pilates, nutrition, audition preparation and dance history.
