Karen has tremendous experience in guiding clients through the selection process, including exterior materials and colors, interior finish details, cabinetry, plumbing fixtures, counter tops, decorative tile, light fixtures, and so forth, always referencing a design concept to ensure a cohesive story is being told.

Most design projects begin with creating several furniture layouts, and selecting the one that best suits the client's desired use of the space. This plan is the blueprint for choosing the ideal size of furniture pieces and area rugs. It is also the basis for creating the electrical plan. The electrical plan is developed to specifically enhance the furniture layout selection.
Paint colors can be tricky! It is quite common to have chosen a paint color from a small sample only to be disappointed with the results. Karen's keen sense of color value, saturation, and tone assures that your vision - bold and sassy, subtle and soothing, or anything in between, is achieved. The wall, ceiling, and trim colors are lifted from the palate that the fabrics and carpets have set, adding one more layer to the design concept!
Do you find yourself never really finishing a room? Do you have sofas, chairs, and tables in place but wonder why the space feels lifeless? The careful placement of lamps, art, and accessories takes a room from being 'fine' to 'fantastic'. Karen shops artisan shows, trade fairs, and antique shops here and abroad to find unique pieces to place when clients are ready for this all important phase of the design process.
