My husband Jeff and I bought what is now Spoke and Vine Motel in late 2018 after I stayed a couple of nights at "the old motel" for a girls' weekend getaway in Palisade in 2017.
After what may be considered one-too-many glasses of wine, I proclaimed to my girlfriends, We should BUY this place! It could be so much more. Despite the possibly impulsive, wine-inspired proclamation, the thought stayed with me. Jeff and I have strong backgrounds in property management and hospitality, so it wasn't a stretch to imagine.

Spoke and Vine Motel is a freshly reinvented motel with old-yet-sturdy bones, thoughtful design, sustainable features, and clean, comfortable rooms. This is NOT your grandpa's motel. We're perfectly located within walking distance of all the food, wine, beer, mead, and fruits your heart desires. We aim to be your favorite place to stay in Palisade and the entire Grand Valley.
Sleep well after an adventurous day hiking, biking, eating, imbibing, and exploring Palisade's many wineries, farm stands, art studios, markets, and festivals. Take in the view of Grand Mesa. Stay a night or stick around. If you didn't bring a bike, no worries. For a leisurely wine country tour, rent one of our cruiser bikes from the Spoke and Vine fleet.
Hence our name, Spoke and Vine welcomes all wine lovers! We are perfectly located at the hub of over 20 local wineries-19 of which have tasting rooms. Stayed for 4 nights over Christmas in the mini apartment and it was a spectacular stay. They have taken an old motel and turned it into a modern, comfortable oasis. I was very happy that my dog could pretty much go anywhere with me, including the adorable hotel bar. We got the pet package and they provided us with a bed, bowl and blanket, which was greatly appreciated by my baby girl. The staff and owners are very nice and we felt extremely comfortable there. It's nicely located very close to downtown and there is a dog park 2 streets over. The breakfast in the morning is perfect, I can be fussy

Perhaps when they are busier it is better attended to. My first night there were only two rooms rented, so why put us right next to each other? There were issues with the coffee/breakfast service, I requested the night before for 7am, and I messaged again at 7:30 after the no show. By the time they called me at 8 I had already gone downtown and paid for my own. Office was closed so no coffee there either. They did then reach out to apologize and offer to make it up via something else which I did not take advantage of. Stated they would for sure be by at 7 the next morning. Nobody was there again

Girl’s trip was great-made even better staying at Spoke and Vine. This place is so cute and accommodating-especially for one of the girls - the fur baby who accompanied us. She was treated like royalty. S&V was so clean and everyone was so nice. We will definitely stay on our next visit to Palisade. Thank you.

Lovely motel and we appreciate all the renovations they've made to the old building. This is an amazing location in Palisade central to everything. Breakfast and coffee each morning was simple but well prepared and very cozy. Overall a great stay. The whole motel is cozy but also invites fun with several seating areas.
Some items to improve. We had recurring problems with the toilet (low water level / not wanting to flush even small amounts of toilet paper, but fortunately nothing gross). In staff's defense they attempted to fix it once but we had a short stay and I didn't want to deal with people

Don't even think about not staying at Spoke & Vine. Just a terrific place with great rooms, dog friendly and convenient parking. Oh, and a wonderful staff! So many nice amenities such as a bar, fenced in yard (dogs) for cocktails or fare from the local food truck. An easy walk to historic downtown Palisades. Will definitely be back.

Hip motel with a great outdoor space (corn hole, picnic tables and cabanas). It is dog-friendly, super clean, and walking distance to downtown. They also offer bikes you can rent which is super convenient. They have a bar in the lobby with great drinks, and they delivery coffee and breakfast to your room every morning. Food trucks arrive every other night or so--the Pali Thai truck is awesome!! All in all, the new owners, Jeff and Jody, did a great job refurbishing the place. My husband and I will definitely book again when we come back to town.

This place was everything we were looking for… and then some! Beautiful recently updated facility, kind staff, and of course dog friendly. Super convenient access to all the winery’s in the area, and a very short walk to downtown. Everything works great, and the room was definitely bigger than “small AF” as advertised. Appliances in rooms are recently updated and bed is super comfortable. Will definitely be staying here again in the future.

My sister and I loved Spoke and Vine Motel! Our room was cozy, clean and accommodating. The beds were comfy too. We enjoyed the happy hour and food truck the first night we were there. On day 2 we started with their complimentary coffee and breakfast in the room and then rented there bikes and cruised around town and the wineries/vineyards. The motel is in a great spot for walking around too. I really can't complain about anything. Def a must stay in Palisade. Nothing like a family run business that does it right.
