Renovating to provide accessibility is highly specialized work that involves detailed planning and consultation with much consideration given to the client's current and future needs. Certainly one of the most important aspects of any remodeling project is the initial consultation and design - this is especially true of accessibility renovations.
This is important because many wheelchair users are able to enter into the bathroom using a walker, or in the case of a smaller bathroom using strategically placed grab bars while leaving the wheelchair at the door. Whether or not a wheelchair will be used inside the bathroom is a primary consideration in bathroom remodeling design.
