We now have an FAA approved repair procedure for all makes and models of aircraft spinner cone repair and backing plates. Certificate number XKKR436L. K and K Precision Welding worked with the FAA for two years testing several scenarios with a 100% success rate. All spinner cones and backing plates are returned with a maintenance release and yellow tag.
Parts that were produced by an owner/operator for installation on their own aircraft. An owner/operator is considered a producer of a part if, the owner participated in controlling the design, manufacture, or quality of the part.
Participating in the design of the part can include supervising the manufacture of the part or providing the manufacturer with the following: the design data, the materials with which to make the part, the fabrication process, assembly, methods, or the quality control (QC) procedures.The form can be downloaded as a pdf.

Prices start at $200 plus shipping but will go up slightly if the crack is over 2 or if there is a doubler inside the spinner. We are FAA approved to repair a total length of cracks to be 8 or less or 50% of the part. We remove the chrome in the heat affected zone and only polish the repaired area but we do not re-chrome.
