The Asian Cafe is an independent, owner-operated restaurant, featuring the finest in Japanese cuisine. Specializing in beautifully served sushi, sashimi and hibachi, the Cafe offers fresh, made-to-order menu items available for dine-in or take-out. The menu consists of about one half grilled and cooked items like hibachi grilled beef, chicken and seafood and one half sushi, sashimi and chirashi.
Sushi, sashimi and chirashi are served raw with rice and sauces, while the hibachi items are served with soup, rice and vegetables. Vegetarian options are available from both the sushi bar and hibachi grill. Seafood is delivered twice a week from a sushi-quality fish supplier in Maryland. In addition, Asian Cafe is a full service restaurant offering wine and beer on premises and featuring several uniquely Asian desserts.

Services
I had the good fortune to share a meal with fellow LKAer, Chuck Meeks today at the new Asian Cafe. It's located next to Ally's in the LAI Center. Chuck ordered a Hibachi Lunch and I ordered the Sushi Lunch (choice of two rolls for under $8). We had hot tea and our cups were never empty or even half full.

I don’t do this ever, at all actually..but this is the first time that Ive ever gotten food poisoning. I ordered the usual creamy crunchy crab roll along with an order of cheese wontons..mind you I have always been IN LOVE with their sushi. I’ve never had issues prior. I got three pieces into it, waited almost 30 minutes for my stomach to calm down, and couldn’t finish it. I ended up having to stop to throw up on the way home. When I finally arrived at home, I threw the rest up and have had this obnoxious pain in my abdomen that doesn’t allow me to eat anything without nausea. How do I

As far as options on or around Lake Anna, this is probably the best one. The hibachi and the sushi are reliably good every time and the portions (for hibachi) are quite generous. The lunch menu is a great value! I wish they were open on Mondays since I often find myself at the lake on long weekends and wanting lunch on Mondays, but they're closed. But good for them for taking a day off!

I have eaten a lot of Asian food and I loved this place. Some of the best Hibachi I have ever had. The sushi we got was so unique too, you should try the CCC roll.
I do have to say one of the hot appetizers was served on a bed of iceberg lettuce and that was kinda gross and unnecessary. Our edamame was over cooked as well, all that being said I would 100% go back, but I would skip those appetizers.
I almost forgot, the Kani salad was delicious. It was different than I've had at other places, but it was good.

Asian Cafe is a go to for us when visiting Lake Anna. We often get just 1 dinner as it is more than enough for two people to share. Dinners come with choice of soup or salad (with ginger dressing), fried rice, and vegetables. We typically order steak but their combos (e.g. steak/chicken, chicken/shrimp, etc.) are good too. Be sure to allow for 30 minutes if ordering take out on a weekend; the place stays very busy. Tables are always full and to go orders line the counter during the summer season.

Ok, let's talk portions... Without knowing, my wife and I each ordered a hibachi meal (Filet and Chicken). It came with a small salad. We didn't even have to look in the to go container. The weight said it all. One of the meals fed both of us! We had an entire meal for the next day when we got off the lake. The meal was very good. I recommend getting it to go if you have the opportunity to eat elsewhere. It can get crazy busy with all the other shops there. Overall, great deal for good food.

Asia Cafe is the consistently best restaurant we have found at Lake Anna.
Other restaurants have come and gone, but Asia Cafe has remained. This tells me that the owners don't just know how to make and serve great food. They also know how do run a business. This combination is not often found around the lake.
I have had their hibachi dinners as well as their sushi and appetizers. Everything has been very good.

The men had sushi and thought is was excellent. My husband has eaten sushi in Japan, and this restaurant is comparable. The ladies had Hitachi shrimp and chicken, very tasty.
I would have liked tonkatsu, another option for those that don't eat sushi.
The owners were friendly and I would recommend this restaurant.

Stopped here for lunch during the week, and thought it was pretty good. It was a Thursday, and there were a few tables full...always a good sign. Both my wife and I thought the food was pretty good. She had the lunch sushi plate, and I had the chicken hibachi lunch. We both liked what we had, and I thought the service was good also. We'll be back again to try dinner.
