Instead of title insurance commonplace in other states, mortgage lender companies require a piece of property in Iowa to have an abstract that is a document showing the ownership for the last 40 years.

I wish I could give this firm negative stars. Worst experience ever. I recently went through a divorce which is gut wrenching enough without having to deal with the extremely rude staff and Mitchell Taylor. They were very condescending when I asked questions. They did not bridge the gap between "lawyer jargon" and everyday "jargon". I will give them one positive though. They were consistent. Consistently rude and arrogant. I don't give reviews for products or services online but my experience here was so horrible I thought others deserved to know & to be "warned
