Discount Pool & Spa Supply is the largest full service pool and spa company in the South Bay. We are an authorized warranty station for all major manufacturers and we are licensed by the L.A. County Health Department and the California State Contractors Board (817494-C53). A contractor's license is required for all pool renovations and repairs over five hundred dollars.
Super chlorinating or "Shocking" means drastically raising the chlorine level of the swimming pool for a short time, to a high enough level that the combined chlorine is oxidized and burnt off. During the summer a pool should be shocked at least once each week. You should shock more frequently if the pool is used heavily, after heavy rainfall, or to kill algae blooms and other bacteria that may be present in the water.

During these days of covid and supply line shortages, it takes extra time to get things done. With that in mind, I am happy with the work and results from using Discount Pool & Spa Supply. Mike and his team worked with us and now our pool looks better than ever! I am glad we picked Mike's team. Everyone was respectful of our house and left the work area super clean.

My first time to buy some pool chemicals here and my experience was great!!Diego helped me and gave me useful info on pool ph balancing. Their prices are very affordable and I will definitely come back for more supplies. I wish they had a store in Valencia. But the drive down there was well worth it.👍

This company was totally ridiculous. I just need to change pool light bulbs. And reset the breaker. They asked me to change whole light set. And quoted me $2K+. Luckily, I was smart enough to get 2nd contractor to estimate. It only costed me $85 +bulb and total $295 to replace 2 light bulbs. Now everything is perfect.

We had Discount Pool Supply redo our pool. We changed the coping and tile and plastered. We also added a underwater bench. They upgraded our pool to code and moved our pool motor and heater to a better location. They changed the gas line to the larger diameter which is the new code. They also put in an automatic water filler. The workmanship is excellent and the workers were eager to please. Mike the owner is very nice, low key, and honest. Easy to work with. I don't have any complaints and would recommend to anyone thinking about redoing or designing a new pool.

I would not recommend using this company due to their lack of professionalism and quality of work. To start the job I called to set up an appointment with Mike, the repair and construction supervisor at this company. The entire time working with Mike I would have to leave a message on an answer machine or one of the employees would tell me he was not there and would I like to leave a message. I found out later, the a majority of the time he was there even though I was told he was gone. This was the first issue I had with Mike at Discount Pools repair and construction dept.. Seems

They have good service. You will probably find stuff on amazon for just slightly cheaper, but they treat people well and know there stuff.
I've bought overflow values and had my pool robot fixed there, and they have all that little stuff that you need to fix something today, and I have received lots of advice on maintenance (I try to most of my own),
So I prefer going there for most things vs buying online.

A year ago our HOA spent over 100k on pool work from you guys- including resurfacing. We are having calcium etching issues in the surface. As of yesterday, our manager Ross said he has left "many messages for Mike in the last few weeks, but no returned call". So I called today Thursday July 18 at around 10:15 am and asked to speak with Mike. Receptionist said she would check and see if he was there. She came back on and said he was not there and "would have to take a message". I asked if I could call him directly and she said she is not allowed to give out his # (strange

This place was quite a surprise. The place was not big but it sure was very clean and fully stacked. I was looking for a spa pump to use on my shellfish tank. I called and the staff was very helpful And friendly. They did call back as promised when they got what i needed. I will definitely do business again with them.
