Cloran Mansion Bed & Breakfast

What a wonderful stay I had here over the summer. I think of it often and look forward to returning someday. Everything was perfect from the moment I arrived to the moment I left. Breakfast was outstanding, my room was absolutely lovely and the grounds were so well-kept. The family that runs this beautiful B&B will make you feel so welcome and right at home. Highly recommend!

10/10. Paul is so accommodating. We eloped and it was absolutely perfect. Couldn’t have pictured it any better. The food was wonderful. The mansion is gorgeous. Would highly recommend to anyone! Our first bed and breakfast and will not be our last.

Have visited twice this year (May and September) and both weekend stays were FABULOUS. After the first time (in May) husband and I loved it so much we decided to return for our anniversary. Stayed in Antonio's Cottage, which was perfect; spacious with bed/living room area, kitchenette and lovely whirlpool tub (in addition to large bathroom). The grounds are so relaxing with gazebo, outdoor seating with fire pit, and lovely pond. Main house is gorgeous and the breakfast each morning is worth the visit itself. Great Bed and Breakfast. This was our first time at a bed and breakfast and the experience exceeded our expectations. Paul was very nice and accommodating. The breakfast was AMAZING and this was a great friendly, comfortable place to stay. The location was very nice as well as it was only about 1.5 miles from downtown.

Can’t say enough about the wonderful Cloran Mansion! My wife and I just returned from a mini getaway for our wedding anniversary. This was our very first visit to a bed and breakfast and didn’t really know what to expect. Paul, the owner was absolutely amazing! Extremely kind and explained everything to us in detail. We stayed in Sarah's Suite. King bed, spacious room, clean and no odors. Loved the whirlpool with epsom salts. Breakfast was AMAZING! Paul was very helpful with suggestions on where to dine, shops to see, etc.

My sister and I stayed at the Antonio Cottage and it was beautiful and peaceful. The mansion, cottage and grounds are lovely. The innkeeper is very kind and they stock the rooms with free soda and have treats to welcome you. The breakfast that is included on your stay was fabulous! The breakfast alone makes the stay worth it!! We highly recommend staying here; it's close enough to main street without having to be in the heart of noise and traffic. Check out Cloran Mansion you won't have any regrets.

The place was awesome. Our room was clean and fresh. An awesome assortment of dvds you can watch. The breakfast was delicious. Fresh fruit, bagel and cream cheese, eggs, thick sliced hot ham, and hash brown casserole-all amazing. They had a big gazebo as well and it was very comfortable. Loved this place. Highly recommend.

We had a most wonderful stay at the Cloran Mansion. Our host Paul was extremely thoughtful and made sure we had everything we needed. The breakfast was delicious with several options and we had a little of everything! Each day of our three day stay the dinning area was set differently and we had new choices. The grounds were beautiful we enjoyed sitting by the fire pit at night. Our room was lovely and comfortable. We definitely would like to return and would recommend Cloran to our friends and family!

We stayed here one night for our 15 year anniversary! Since we mentioned it was our anniversary we were greeted with a small anniversary cake in our room. The room was clean, comfortable and relaxing. We loved the whirlpool tub, complimentary soda water tea and coffee and the breakfast was amazing and more than enough for the two of us. They were nice enough to serve our breakfast in our room.

This is one of the best bed and breakfast stays in Galena, IL. The food was 5 Stars and plentiful each morning. Great home cooking!

Hubby and I never stayed at a B&B before and did not know what to expect. We stayed one night in Antonio's cottage at the Cloran Mansion to give it a try and we were not disappointed! If your looking for something super modern, this is not your place. It was a cozy stay with a old home feeling. The linens and towels were the softest we ever used! It was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good but there were these homemade raspberry puff (can't remember the technical term) that made it unique. We have never laughed so much with people we did not know. We have been staying here for years and it is the only bed and breakfast we stay in. I must say the place, food and service is as wonderful as the first time we walked in. You are treated like family and friends would. We also stay at the condo and it's just so relaxing and comfortable. Cheryl and Carmine are the most welcoming people. The have a great variety breakfast and it's so much better and fresher than any restaurant in town. We hope to continue to celebrate many anniversaries and getaways there.

I have stayed here multiple times with family and romantic getaway and I have never been disappointed.

Carmine and Charmine are the sweetest people (who make AMAZING food!!), they respect your privacy and go above and beyond for any needs/requests you may have.

I have seen a few reviews complaining about the location of the Cloran Mansion, and it is NOT downtown Galena but we actually prefer it that way. It's like a 5 minute drive but it's out of the way enough so that you don't have a lot of traffic outside. The rooms all have a Victorian vibe but they're very cozy.

We just enjoyed a second visit to the Cloran Mansion - as last year, the BEST experience for a B&B you could possibly have! We wanted a "one tank" trip from Chicago last year and Lake Geneva was only dog friendly if your dog is 10 pounds. LOL! We have a very well behaved 70 pound Golden Retriever (therapy dog) and Cheryl & Carmine allow pets in Antonio's Cottage, which we adore. Beautiful grounds, peaceful and a breakfast to write home about! We are GIANT fans and can't wait for our next visit in 2015!

What an absolutely LOVELY place this is!! The rooms are beautiful and welcoming. You can see that there is a real attention to detail in everything they do at this B&B. Which brings me to the breakfast that they serve, EXCEPTIONAL is the first word that comes to mind! Their breakfast is not your typical B&B food. It is delicious and plentiful - eggs to order, bacon, sausage. The cinnamon swirl pancakes and the freshly prepared hash browns are my favorites!

This was our first trip to a B&B, we were not disappointed. The Cloran Mansion hosted our wedding and made sure the whole process was completely stress free. Cheryl and Carmine are the nicest people, and Carmine can tell you the whole history of Mansion. Not to mention Carmine is an amazing chef! Breakfast was phenomenal, and the hours breakfast is served is reasonable, you can actually sleep in and still get breakfast.

This place is great! We were holding on to a gift certificate for a couple of years and then finally decided to use it and it was well worth while and we will stay there again on our next visit to Galena. We stayed in Antonio's Cottage and it was great to be secluded outside of the house and have our own private experience. Cheryl and Carmine were both great and actually interacted with the guests over breakfast which I loved as everyone gets to know everyone. First of all, I have a hard time believing when one business receives multiple 5 stars online from so many customers. In regards to Cloran Mansion, I am a believer!

This was our first stay here at Cloran Mansion and in Galena, IL; and let me just say Cheryl & Carmine really make you feel at home and are absolutely wonderful hosts. We were lucky enough to stay in the cottage next to the Mansion, they allowed us to bring our dog with us for a small fee, and they accommodated us to check in beyond 10pm when we arrived.
