Services
REACH Rehab + Chiropractic Performance Center was started with the vision of providing Plymouth, Canton, Livonia, Westland, and the surrounding Southeast Michigan communities with unparalleled service, attention, and results. Our goal is to not only help you feel better and solve your problem but to empower every individual to live healthier, independent lives.
With customized manual medicine and movement coaching, REACH Rehab + Chiropractic Performance Center takes the guesswork out of healing. Through an evidence-based and patient-focused approach, we work together to relieve pain as quickly as possible while addressing the underlying cause of the symptoms.
Back pain is the most common complaint we treat. More than 80 percent of Americans experience back pain at some point in their lifetime. For many, the effect of back pain is an everyday battle which immensely impacts the quality of life. The pain we feel - whether in the back, the hip(s), or down the leg(s) - is the body's request for change.
According to the World Health Organization, 50 to 75% of people have had a headache in the last year. Not only are headaches common, an inconvenience, and uncomfortable, but they can be debilitating. Negatively impacting a normal lifestyle, headaches can diminish production, performance, and mood; and escalate irritability, stress, and absence of daily activity.
Shoulder pain is the third most common complaint we treat. Though the pain is felt in the shoulder girdle region, more times than not, the cause is not of the shoulder itself, or there's a secondary contributor to the problem! The pain we feel - whether in the neck, the shoulder(s), or down the arm(s) - is the body's request for change, not an indication something is broken, needing to be "fixed."

I was very hesitant to see a chiropractor at first. I have a surgical history for my back , including a spinal fusion where Harrington Rods were surgically inserted. The thought of seeing a chiropractor and having them touch my back terrified me. Before coming to REACH Rehab I just knew that chiropractors cracked you, and I didn't know much more.
Then, there was one day where I was having so much back pain that I had to leave work in tears, and my mom convinced me to give REACH Rehab a try. I was so impressed with the team working here. The front desk staff was AMAZING and was able to get me in

I recommend Reach to anyone considering chiropractic care. Just know, you don't just walk in and get adjusted - you are part of your own recovery. Daily exercises make it easier to feel better, faster and I wouldn't go anywhere else for my back, shoulder, knee, and neck pain. Thanks Dr. Mitch, Emily, and the Reach Team!

I came to Reach at the recommendation of a friend to rehab a shoulder injury that was making it hard for me to workout and affecting my sleep and daily function.
Right away Reach and Dr Israel we’re different than any chiropractor I’d been to before. The first visit was long really doing a thorough assessment of my function, what movements caused pain and what alleviated it. We spent time talking about what seemed to be the problem and coming up with a plan of attack starting with primarily stretching and progressing over time to building back up the muscle support I needed.

I went to see Dr. Burr because I was having lower back pain that made everyday functions uncomfortable. He was able to figure out the issue with my back and explain what was causing me discomfort in an easy to understand way. Not only did he do adjustments, but he also educated me on how to prevent this from happening again so I won't have to come back in the future. Dr. Burr was great, and everyone at REACH Rehab was friendly and helpful!

I started coming to Reach with neck, lower back, and other post surgery related pains. Over all my experience has been far beyond my expectations. I’ve dealt with soreness for many years due to my physically demanding line of work and I actually thought, that’s just how it is. Dr. Mitch has completely changed my mindset and has worked with me make a plan to really change the way I feel everyday. After just a few months I absolutely feel like a new person. The team here at Reach has customer service as a top priority. I couldn’t be happier with my experience.

Couldn't ask for more from Dr. Burr. I came in with some upper shoulder pain and he laid out a plan for how we'd make it get better together. It wasn't going to be an overnight fix and it wasn't; but we stuck to the plan and within a few weeks was pain free. Make sure to do your homework! Dr. Burr learns about his patients interests and engages with them, they are more than just chiro patients to him. As long as we are both in the same area, I wouldn't go anywhere else.

In March 2020, I suffered a blunt injury to both my knee and shoulder in a hockey game. For over two months I struggled with recovery despite rest and ice, and it was inhibiting some of my daily activities. I was recommended by a hockey team mate of mine to go to REACH as he had a positive experience with them helping to heal his sports injury.
I had a great experience during my time there. The individuals at the front desk were quick to take calls, answer questions, and helpful in scheduling or re-scheduling on short notice. The person who treated me, Dr. Israel, not only wanted to provide various

RJ is one of the best clinicians I have ever met! I’m a Physical Therapist Assistant and Strength Coach, but I’ve learned something new from him every time I’ve seen him and he is the only one who was able to find the root cause of a lot of my issues. His kind, compassionate attitude makes you feel instantly comfortable with him, and he takes the time to really understand you and answer all your questions in great detail. Also, the rest of the staff is always smiling and fun to chat with. I have already referred many friends, family, and patients to RJ and will continue to do so because he’s

I went to Reach because of a referral from a family member. I was hesitant to go because I had never seen a chiropractor before, I don't like the idea of getting cracked, and I've heard of stories where people go-to Chiropractors and have to keep going forever. I love this place because Dr. Burr taught me how to fix my back problem with simple exercises. Not once did he have to crack me. In only a few appointments, I'm feeling great! Also, he taught me how keep my back feeling good, which he calls brushing and flossing your back. I'm really happy I made the decision to go. I highly recommend you

Dr. Burr and his team really go above and beyond to make your experience as comfortable as possible. I was very impressed with his approach. He does a great job talking through the procedures with you and what to expect - getting into the details with in-depth explanations of what’s going on and how different exercises will help/impact the area of concern. The “homework” aspect (stretches to do at home in between appointments) was a real key that helped alleviate my pain. I highly recommend giving Dr. Burr a try, and definitely plan on coming back for any future issues.

I injured my lower back somehow and it had quickly escalated to debilitating pain over just a few days. To make matters worse, I was hosting a birthday party the coming weekend and had so much to do. I was trying everything to get back my mobility... stretches, cbd oil, back roller, mobility ball, ice, heat, pain cream, rest, but nothing was working and I was in tears from desperation. It can be a frightening feeling when your freedom of movement is slipping away before your eyes. I didn't feel comfortable driving the car and could barely bend down at all. I had to do something or cancel

I got the pleasure of meeting Dr. Burr this summer! He was my last stop on my journey of lower back pain. In just 5 sessions I learned SO much about what was going on with my body and causing my pain. He actually took the time to listen to my concerns and venting at times Lol. But, I haven't been in pain since. I wish I would have went last year! I highly recommend his method over a 'regular' chiropractor where you may just pop in for for adjustment. That was only a small part of the treatment here. He reminded me of seeing a PT and specialist all in one. Definitely worth

Great chiropractic office. I was referred to RJ by my trainer at Applied Fitness. After my first visit to REACH Rehab I noticed immediate improvement in my neck pain. RJ taught multiple exercises to stretch and strengthen my neck. He also provided tips to avoid and prevent future injury.

I've known RJ for a while, both as a business owner and friend. I had never used his serves until last year my elbow began acting up. I'm an active person and this was putting a huge wrench into my lifestyle.
RJ invited me in--there was no pressure to invest in his services. As a matter of fact, if I didn't think it was a fit, he was perfectly OK telling him "no". With that, we were on our way with treatment.
It wasn't a quick fix--I had tennis elbow; however, there were things that we did in his office and exercises that he prescribed me outside of the offices

I scheduled an appointment for pain due to patellar tendonitis in my right knee. During my first visit, it was quickly established that what I was experiencing was from my lower back and a series of exercises were prescribed to me. The pain cleared quickly and I was able to return to normal activities. I would have never worked this out on my own and am ecstatic I decided to go in. Easy booking and minimal wait time made the experience painless (pun intended).

I highly recommend Dr. RJ Burr at REACH! We originally took our daughter to see RJ because we were looking for a sports chiropractor who could help her reach her goal of playing college golf. Little did we know at the time that he is so much more than that! RJ uses The Mackenzie Method to evaluate and treat our daughter's neck and back issues that are caused by intensive studying, a heavy backpack and golf. I'm overwhelmed by the amount of time he spends evaluating and teaching her exercises that she can use on her own. She feels much relief after her visits!

I have heard a lot of great things about Reach Rehab, so I decided to give it a try to help relieve neck and back pain. My first visit was very informative and very helpful. I started to understand why I was having neck and back pain. Dr. Swain showed me exercises and told me to do them at home, I have seen a big difference in how I wake up in the morning. As long as I keep up with my exercises I notice that I am in a lot less pain. Their goal is for you to be able to manage your pain with the knowledge and exercises they provide you with.

RJ has helped me with two separate back injuries, one of which was pretty severe. I couldn't put a price on fixing these issues, which were causing me constant discomfort. After a handful of visits, my pain is completely gone and I'm back to my normal activities, but more importantly I've learned a ton from RJ about how to prevent future injuries, treat minor issues I encounter and fix a lot of poor habits I've built over the years.

REACH is a great practice for anyone who is active and wants to take an active role in their own recovery and long-term well being. The visits

A little over 3 years ago, I was 27 and was unable to walk due to crippling lower back pain. I was considering invasive surgery to correct a bulging disc. I'm so glad I came to see Dr. RJ Burr, instead. He taught me how to use physical manipulation to correct my injury, and he patiently answered all of my questions (with diagrams and props!). I now have the tools and confidence to face any future back challenges head on. I can't recommend Dr. Burr enough!

I saw Dr. Burr initially for a back injury due to BJJ and he worked with me through therapy and after a month I was back rolling again. Dr. Burr came highly recommended from my BJJ academy. He is attentive and really worked with me in fixing my back. Now he is working on a bad shoulder I've had for a long time and I have seen continuous improvement in my shoulder.

Dr. Burr is very knowledgeable and does not just rely on chiropractics to fix issues. I highly recommend Dr. Burr and he gave me a maintenance plan to follow so I can avoid injuries in the future.

I am a weekend warrior (or wanna be weekend warrior) who has had shoulder pain for 10 years. I've had MRI's, Scans, X-Rays, PT, everything. At someone's suggestion I saw Dr. Burr. I rolled my eyes at the suggestion of seeing a chiro but I went anyway. On the first visit Dr. Burr diagnosed by shoulder pain as coming from my neck and back. We've worked on it since then with exercises and stretching. My pain when working out has gone WAY down to almost non existent. This last week, I didn't do my exercises because I got busy and I noticed a return of the pain. THANK
