In 1896, the people of Irvington recognized that the devastating risk posed by fire didn't have to be borne alone.
A group of 37 homeowners banded together to form the Northern Neck Mutual Fire Association of Virginia. By pooling their resources, these original members gained the ability to rebuild a home leveled by fire. In the century that followed, membership in the Association expanded statewide, providing coverage for thousands of homes throughout the Commonwealth.

Northern Neck Insurance are nothing, but bullies who think that everyone is going to bow down to them; I refuse. When I got my VA home loan they had noticed that I had two dogs, and complained that I needed to get rid of my huskie, because it is dangerous, and wolf-like. When I refused, and told them to kick rocks they went ahead, and allowed us to have a policy with them. I recently had an insurance agent come out to my home to check out some water damage from a leak, and everything seemed fine, and good, but little did I know the guy was taking pictures of my backyard which had nothing to do

We have been treated respectfully and they have been very quick compared to most others

The whole team I worked with was great, the process moved very quickly with my car being totaled. They did a great job at communicating, and informed me on everything I would need to do if I got help for any injuries. My main agent was Phoebe Hollingsworth, and she made the whole process very easy and as least stressful as possible. She returned my calls in a timely manner as well. I think being a smaller organization like them, allows for better communication between agents and their clients. Thank you all for your help!

This "so called" insurance company is a sad, pathetic case of business gone bad! In our case we lost most of our roof and siding in a well known state wide storm. We were assured by the adjuster that our policy had "full replacement cost" but Northern Neck disagreed and we didn't get a dime for the new roof or siding. Now we're stuck with $7,500 in repair costs while they continue to eagerly take our monthly payments! When my wife called and questioned them about a recent burst pipe that flooded 3 rooms of our home they became rude and belligerent. They told my wife

I am changing my review of Northern Neck Insurance due to my recent interaction with this company. I have been insured for many years. I have always paid my premiums on time. I have not had a lot of claim activity so this company has definitely profited from my business. With this last interaction, I see that I am not a valued customer. Filed a claim with them for a damage to my home and they sent an adjuster within couple of days. After the adjuster submitted his analysis/estimate to the insurance company, they sent me a check for the repairs with 2 - 3 days. They are very responsive. My case was handled by Betsy Gough and she was amazing. Happy that I have my insurance with Northern Neck.

I had an agent call me as he dropped them for what he felt they were not paying their claims. I went with a different agent so I could stay with NN. (What a mistake) We bought our house and canceled our renters insurance policy, took them four months to cancel it and issue a refund check, which they mailed to an address that was 7 years old (I am sure on purpose) So I canceled my car insurance with them too. Seems this check also went to the old address after correcting it for over a YEAR!!! After I canceled it they still took another payment out of my account. I will repost once that check gets

I have been with Northern Neck Insurance company for going on 9 years. I have had a homeowner's claim, as well as a total loss vehicle claim. On both of these, I found my adjuster very helpful and friendly. I was pleasantly surprised to have them pay off the total balance of the car note when my daughter totaled her car, as it was no where near worth what she still owed on it. I highly recommend Northern Neck.

Terrible Insurance company! I had opened a claim with Northern Neck and they promised it would be paid. After mountains of paperwork, a hundred emails and phone calls, they sent me a letter stating the claim has been denied. BBB and VA Insurance commissioner has been notified. Now I know why people hate insurance companies so much.. Northern Neck is a poster child of bad service and zero customer advocacy.
