Services
Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Arcadia has a long, rich history. Our beginnings date back to 1924, on the corner of Hickory Street and Brevard Avenue in the old A.C. Freeman home as Bozarth Funeral Home, owned by R.C. Bozarth. The home was later bought by Johnny Blake and Lovell Lanier and named Blake-Lanier Funeral Home.
With over 200 years of combined experience, the Staff members of Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home are caring and experienced professionals who understand that each family is unique and has personal requests and traditions. These requests and traditions are of utmost importance to our staff of licensed funeral directors.
There are many factors and details that go into planning a funeral or final arrangements, and it can quickly become overwhelming - especially when you don't know what to expect. Here is a guide to what you can expect throughout the stages of making these arrangements. If your loved one passes away at home or somewhere else that is not a healthcare facility, you should call 911 right away.
We are proud to offer a full range of military funeral services to the veterans in our community. If you or your loved one are retired, active duty, or honorably discharged from any branch of the United States Armed Forces, we would be happy to arrange services that will honor that time spent serving our country.
Just as you plan for your family's protection if you die, you should consider the Social Security benefits that may be available if you are the survivor - that is, the spouse, child, or parent of a worker who dies. That person must have worked long enough under Social Security to qualify for benefits.

Fred was there for the death of my grandmother then sudden death of my father and most recently the death of my mother. That has been a lot of loss in the last 4 years. Fred has become family. His calm, patient, kind demeanor allowed us to get through some very difficult days. This last burial, Jacquelyn was working with Fred, and again from our first meeting she was so warm and caring during a very stressful, sad, traumatic day. We are very appreciative and would highly recommend to anyone.
