San Juan Inn
The San Juan Inn is neatly nestled between a majestic red rock cliff, and the San Juan River. Only 20 Miles from Monument Valley, this is a hotel with astonishing views. For a unique experience in the desert of Utah and the comfort of moving water, this is as tranquil as it gets.

Monument Valley May be the Main Attraction in the Area but there are many Hidden Gems to explore within a few Miles of the San Juan Inn such as the Goosenecks State Park, Bears Ears, Cedar Mesa, Natural Bridges National Monument, Comb Ridge, The San Juan River, Valley of the Gods, Moki Dugway and More.
Services
The San Juan Inn is a motel near Monument Valley featuring a wide variety of room sizes and layouts to accommodate groups of all sizes. While visiting the San Juan Inn our friendly staff will do everything they can to accommodate you and assure your stay is as comfortable as possible. Along with our cozy rooms we understand travel may have an impact on your schedule.
The San Juan Inn is a full service resort offering many amenities to assure a comfortable visit in a remote desert of the United States. A fully stocked trading post and convenience store with traditional navajo arts and crafts, food/groceries, and beer, and souvenirs. We have a quaint exercise room with just about everything you'd need to get a good workout in before you hop back on the road.
Almost like camping, some even call it "Glamping" for its glamorous attraction. These yurts bring home a lot of the comforts you left behind. Each Yurt features a full bathroom with showers and toilets, electricity and air conditioning. Our yurts are not located on the main property, they are about a mile away on the upper end of town.
In addition to Motel Rooms we have a larger accommodation for larger parties. Our Trading Post Home can sleep up to 9 people, using the pull out couch and one rollaway. We ask $350.00 plus taxes per night. Rent the other 2 rooms on the same upper level and have the whole top deck to yourselves! One of these rooms has 2 queen beds and a twin daybed sleeping 5 people for $124.00.
The San Juan Inn features the Olde Bridge Grille serving a full American menu as well as several local Navajo dishes. We have the only Utah State restaurant liquor license within 100 miles in every direction. If you are dining you may choose from our wine, liquor or beer list to compliment your meal.

In 2016, I visited this motel. Accommodation was disastrous. the lady who served us was unpleasant. The cobwebs in the room, the door that did not go lock. Just horror

The room is clean, everything in room very old but in ok condition. Has good view to see the Sanjuan river from outer balcony. People who manage the inn and restaurant are very friendly and nice. The only imperfect is very unstable Wi-Fi, and no phone signal at all! No way to call or use internet.

We spent a night in Mexican Hat, Utah on our trip out west. What a lovely experience! This tiny town had a motel when most of the tiny towns in the area do not. Our room at the San Juan Inn room had Native American artwork inside, views on the San Juan river outside, and scores of humming birds outside the restaurant windows. It was clean and comfortable. We did not expect five star appointments, nor were we charged for them. The restaurant offered a good variety and well prepared breakfasts. Proximity to the river and walking path along the river was a nice surprise. Exploring in the shop when

WARNING!! This place is a joke. I booked a room online through Kayak. Upon arrival, I was informed that my room was on the 2nd floor and dogs are only allowed on the first floor, which is $15 more expensive +pet fee. I was a little uncomfortable with the surprise charge for the 1st floor. The cranky owner told me I can just go somewhere else. I told her I was tired from driving and will just pay the extra fee. After I check in, she tells me the WiFi is broken and internet doesn’t fall from the sky. WHAT??? They advertise WiFi on their website and on all the travel apps (Expedia). I expect it

This is our fourth visit to the San Juan Inn. We have previously had other rooms that are more updated. Sadly, this trip we got a room #2 on the first floor. That room was not very comfortable because the shower has black mold and is very small. The only ventilation is a window. The air conditioner is also extremely loud.
We keep returning to the inn because the location is great, the restaurant is good and the staff are friendly.

All the staff was awesome! Had a blast fishing on the river and hiking all the beautiful trails right outside our door. 10/10 would recommend staying here to anyone.

We stayed a couple of weeks ago. We arrived at night and did not know the beauty of this place until Morning. It is a jewel. The breakfast is out of the world and is absolutely a place that I would recommend. Waking up to the San Juan River outside your door was the best way to start your day.

This is an old roadside motel on the cliffs along the San Juan River. No frills, but clean and comfortable. The restaurant in the same parking lot is tasty too. There is not much to choose from here.

Absolutely a great place to stay.
The staff is as friendly as have ever experienced.
Clean, quiet, nestled along the river, just a great relaxing place to be after a hard day's run.
While most motels have enough outdoor lighting to land an A380 this one keeps it dim at night making the clear cloudless nights an experience that can only be attained in the high dessert.
We watched a docking of one of the Space Shuttles with ISS with the naked eye a few years back, yes it is THAT clear.

We had reserved a suite with a deep tub but when we got there the room only had a shower. The room had lots of windows and not enough drapes to cover them. They had a security light right outside our room that went off and on all night long. The room was ok the location was pretty. Dining options are very limited and we drove 30 minutes to the next town to find something. Very basic hotel but a nice place to stop if you need to rest for the night. The river view is very nice and was a great place to relax in the evening!

We made a reservation and the week before I called to verify and to let them know we would be arriving after hours. Brook said that would not be a problem and gave me her cell number to text her to let her know when we would be arriving. I texted 3 times. She never responded. Got there at midnight. Still no reply from Brook. Called the number on the door, saying for late check ins call. No answer. We had to find another hotel. Found one just down the street. Much nicer place. We also never received a call, apologizing or explaining. Not a way to do business in my opinion.

Perfect place for dog owners! Dog friendly hotels are usually a step down in cleanliness but this place was just fine. Best was the connected shop and restaurant. Plus walking down to the river and letting our little dog see the donkey. So cute! And the place is near some of the most beautiful spots on earth. Will definitely come her again.

The room was clean. The bathroom was very nice with wood paneling and tiling, up to date. The bed was comfortable. Our room was right across from cute little chairs that you could sit at and look out across the San Juan River. The guy at the front desk (not sure of his name, but we staying on Thursday, October 3, was super friendly and accomodating!

This place is so old school it's a real key on a well burnished brass fob. Over the years, I've done the drive over the river going to Monument Valley, and the Res. I've always see the Inn, and thought it would be cool to stay there. This trip I did.
The check-in was fast and smooth. My party had two rooms. They were not in the main long building. They were both different. The room was clean. The bed was comfortable. The view over the river was spectacular. That's not a word I use likely. The chairs across the parking lot gave a wonderful view of the river in the morning.

There are very few choices for food in Mexican Hat (plus Monument Valley) but this one was a winner. We ordered the fry bread cheeseburger. The waiter said how big its big so we should just split it, so couldn't argue that (but once it arrived I was definitely thinking hmm, coulda eaten the whole thing lol) he was a quirky guy, but what's "normal" anyway?! Friendly service, and then, a woman who id presume to be the owner or manager, stopped by our table to check on things. I was raving about the fry bread, which she makes by hand of course, and revealed her secret ingredient

I stayed here this past weekend with my boyfriend and it was a great experience! We managed to get one of the yurts that is offsite on a lot across the town (all of a quarter mile down the road), and it was adorable! We had the smallest one, but it was plenty of room for a couple. There was a seating area outside with views of the namesake Mexican Hat rock. AC unit and heater in the yurt, as well as our own toilet and shower - everything you could need! Loved this little place, will stay again if I'm back in the area!

Stayed here for two nights while on a road trip in July 2015, but had been here back in 2006 as well.

The rooms are okay. Some of them have three beds which is nice, but they aren't very comfortable. The sink isn't in the bathroom which is kind of odd. Overall though, the rooms are fine and can't complain too much.

The restaurant is meh. I remember really liking it back in 06 but this time not as much. We went here our first night, and I got the veggie taco. I thought it was kind of odd that it came out in less than five minutes, but it was good - filling! We then ate breakfast

Adorable, unique, family friendly inn! My sister and I stayed here not last night but the night before on our road trip from Vegas to Denver. I called for a reservation about 6 hours before we arrived, and I was able to book a room.

Staff - extremely friendly and helpful. The woman at the front remembered me from my call 5 hours earlier. Also, the woman at the desk in the morning let my sister and I use her computer to check the weather in monarch's pass since the wifi was not working.

Room - The room was small, but it was clean and comfortable. We had enough space for the two of us, and
