Glacier High School Charter
Glacier was founded as a cooperative venture by parents of future students, teachers and two school administrators. Parents from Mountain Home Charter School (Mountain Home) desired to create a high school with a similar personalized learning program. In 2006 we created a satellite campus in Fresno County and in the summer of 2015 we moved our campus to a new location near Fig Garden Village.

Today Glacier serves over 100 students with 5 full time teachers and several part time teachers. In 2008-09 Glacier and Mountain Home School joined together to form a non-profit educational entity called Western Sierra Charter Schools. We are excited to see how our program is growing both in the mountains and in the Central Valley.

This Blog is dedicated to communicating important announcements from our staff and administration for Glacier High School Charter. We are pleased to announce that our November Newsletter is now available to view. Hard copies are available at school. Please take some time to read over the newsletter as it is our main way to communicate upcoming events and important announcements.
The Marine Advanced Technology Education(MATE) Center at Monterey Peninsula College(MPC) sponsors an annual underwater robotics contest for students in grades 6 -12. Students design, build, and pilot remotely operated vehicles(ROVs) to compete in a competition in April or May. The event includes underwater missions, a poster display, and an engineering presentation.

Do you charge a tuition? As a California public high school, tuition is always free. Are you an accredited program? In 2008 we were accredited by Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) for six years. Aren't you just helping families who "home-school"? We have many similar benefits of home schooling, and other necessary and helpful elements that make our program best referred to as a "personalized learning" program.
The vision of Glacier is to create a rigorous, dynamic and accountable learning community that is built upon voluntary association, parent leadership, personalized student learning, and high academic standards for all students.

Glacier will accomplish these four complementary goals by providing all students and parents with: personal, experienced teacher guidance and support; powerful and proven instruction; ongoing, multiple modality assessments; and a large and growing inventory of high quality, standards-aligned instructional resources that offer both breadth and depth in curriculum and auxiliary materials.
