Mackinac Island Carriage Tours is the world's oldest Horse and Buggy Service with approximately 100 carriages pulled by over 400 horses. Carriage men officially began providing tours of the Island in 1869 when the first city carriage license was issued. In 1948, the carriage men officially established Mackinac Island Carriage Tours, Inc.

Whether your wedding plans include an historic Mackinac church or a breathtaking garden, an antique carriage from Mackinac Island Carriage Tours is the crowning touch to your special day. Our wedding coordinator will tailor your carriage arrangements to suit your specific needs.
The taxi is now running winter hours from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. If a taxi is needed after 5:00 p.m. a reservation must be made no later than 4:30 p.m. of the day it is needed. If a taxi is needed before 8:00 a.m. a reservation must be made the day prior. Our horse-drawn taxi cabs are radio dispatched and available 24 hours per day during the summer season.
Enjoy a private tour aboard one of our livery carriages. Your knowledgeable driver can customize the tour just for you, and take you to areas undiscovered on our public tour. The livery carriages will seat up to 8 guests and are rented by the hour with a one hour minimum. Private livery carriages may be reserved for longer than one hour, in half hour increments, pro-rated at the hourly rate.

We took the 1:55 tour today and Jesse was an amazing guide. He had us rolling the entire time. I’ve taken a lot of tours over the years and this was one of the best I’ve been on. We enjoyed the history of the island, the jokes, and the “storytelling”. It made our trip to Mackinac Island very memorable!

Was disappointed in that we had to wait 2 and a half hours to take this 2 hour carriage ride that could have easily been completed in 1 hour. Only thing really worth seeing on the ride is the Arch Rock where they rush you (8 minutes), which is barely enough to get in line for a picture in front of the view. Also, it was expensive at about $35 per person. Wish they offered a 1 hour tour to the Arch Rock and back with more time there.

One of the more popular attractions on Mackinac Island is a carriage tour which is just under 2 hours long. The drivers go out of their way to try to entertain the guests, but understand the second half of the tour is mostly trees. Midway through the tour they stop at their concession stand and allow you to have a break. If you are interested, stop and buy the tickets as soon as you get on the island because they will sell out.

Super awesome! Pretty much no waiting up til mid-day. We got the combination ticket to the butterfly conservatory. It's small but incredible. Many many colorful flutterers flying everywhere. Landing on you often. We had two carriage drivers and both were friendly, interesting and informative. To top it off I lost a small personal item on the seat. I stopped by the ticket office later upon realizing. They sent out the word and an hour later I stopped back by and my item was there!! The BEST!
