Since the very inception of this amazing profession, we chiropractors have believed that the human body has an amazing in-born capacity to heal. We refer to this as our Innate Intelligence. Given the right set of circumstances, your body is in a continual state of repair and restoration. At the very core of this process, is a properly functioning nervous system.
Your nervous system is what controls and co-ordinates the function of every process and every cell of your body. It is the conductor of your body's incredible symphony of functions. Your nervous system is made up of three parts: your brain (your computer), your spinal cord (your main power cable), and your spinal nerve pairs (the small wires that go out to your many body parts).

In simplest terms, a subluxation a.k.a. Vertebral Subluxation) is when one or more of the bones of your spine (vertebrae) move out of position and create pressure on, or irritate spinal nerves. Spinal nerves are the nerves that come out from between each of the bones in your spine. This pressure or irritation on the nerves then causes those nerves to malfunction and interfere with the signals traveling over those nerves.
This is a representation of one type of subluxation. A subluxation, as defined by the Association of Chiropractic Colleges is: "A subluxation is a complex of functional and/or structural and/or pathological articular changes that compromise neural integrity and may influence organ system function and general health."
Below are some of the foremost experts in chiropractic who have taken the time to answer some of the more common questions. Author: Dr. Jay Handt Description: Dr. Handt looks at chiropractic from the point of view of a lifestyle. He explains how over time chiropractic can improve and optimize your quality of life and affect many areas of your well being.
Chiropractors do not claim to treat infectious diseases. What chiropractic does is allow your body to function free of nerve system interference and closer to your full potential. Understanding the spread of infectious disease and how best to defend yourself can lessen the fear as well as your chances of being impacted by infectious pathogens.

When I started treatments in April, I could barely do much with moving my arms. Driving would hurt when I had to turn the steering wheel, getting dressed was hurting and getting up once I had laid down. After one adjustment, I immediately felt improvement. Now, 5 months later, I still make it a priority to get my adjustments in because I'm a flight attendant. Thank you Dr. Norburg and all of your staff including the other chiropractors. You all have improved my life.
