The McCaffery family purchased Walton's in 1959 and with the help of the Dermody family, grew it into one of the largest family-owned funeral home businesses in the nation. In 2019, a new chapter of Walton's began with long time employees Rick Noel and Kim Kandaras purchasing the company. Our caring and attentive team of skilled professionals are dedicated to supporting families during their most difficult time.

The Solace Tree is a nonprofit organization based in Reno, Nevada that works with children, teens and adults who are grieving a loss or struggling emotionally and mentally.

It’s unfortunate that I have the chance to write this review however I couldn’t ask for better after care. Losing my mom unexpectedly right before the holidays has been extremely traumatic however the care I have received from Sarah and Waltons funeral home has made it seem a little less awful! I didn’t even know what to do from start to finish and Sarah has held my hand and my heart the whole way.

This has been a extremely difficult time for my family and I and Walton's sierra chapel staff made the process very warming ! Very Gentle and Personable with each and every detail…outstanding Professionalism from our F First call, Greeting, Meeting and Final pick up and then additional follow up to make sure Our needs had been met. Presentation of Keepsakes for transport was beyond my expectations. Highly recommend their Staff to help anyone ease through the difficult process of laying Loved Ones to Rest.

The staff at Walton's, specifically the Sierra Chapel location, are incredibly kind, caring, and sensitive during such a difficult time. They helped my mom and I through the loss of my dad, making us feel cared for every step of the way. I wish we all could go through life without loss, but since we can't, I would recommend working with Walton's Sierra Chapel.

Walton's has always been my 1st choice, they were so good about everything we needed for our pre need arrangements. I would have never dreamed that My sister would need this so soon. Blake and Sarah and there staff were there for me and my sister's needs, I was so stressed about her unexpected passing, it was a relief to have them take care of all of this. I would give them at Walton's a 10.
