Services
We don't think it's an overstatement when we say every day on The High Lonesome Ranch is a memorable one, from sunrise to sunset and the nights in between. The experiences are as vast and expansive as the place itself. Join us here to delve into those possibilities as our team, partners, neighbors, and guests share their own explorations and inspirations from The High Lonesome Ranch.
The fire went on to consume over 140,000 acres and become the largest fire in recorded Colorado history at the time. The drought conditions that led to the Pine Gulch Fire Event were not isolated to our corner of Colorado. The end of the 2020 fire season would see the Pine Gulch Fire passed twice over as the largest fire in Colorado history and dwarfed by larger fires throughout the Western States.
Historical records show this land was characterized by lush wetlands, riparian vegetation and high groundwater tables. Today the ranch is much drier than it once was, but through regenerative land management we will bring life back to the land. We are here to restore this land, protect its rugged beauty, habitat, wildlife and return it to ecological health.
The High Lonesome Ranch vision states we are committed to healthy and productive lands, waters, and resources, but more than that, we are committed to demonstrating how private and public lands can be stewarded for ethical uses and economic vitality.

Working with a diverse coalition of ranchers, conservationists, public land managers, scientists, and others, we can improve land health while simultaneously producing delicious healthful food for our community.
Each guest house features well-appointed spaces welcoming you with that down-to-earth country comfort found at The High Lonesome Ranch. You'll find the right amount of cozy and spaciousness to entertain a party of yourself, family, friends, or all of the above.

The kitchens are kitted out with a thorough and carefully curated set of essential accessories and staple dry goods to ensure that after a day out adventuring, you've got all needed to nurture your body while your soul savors the day's experiences. If you haven't gotten enough of the Outdoors, enjoy rocking chairs and patios while dinner sizzles on the grill.

Going down hill. Have stayed her five times and they've had staffing changes and seem to have decided to stop being a top tier destination. Food and beverage program was outstanding but now they are cutting corners.

We stayed three nights in one of the cabins. We had delicious home cooked meals, were made welcome by the wonderful staff, and had two great days of fly fishing.

High lonesome is amazing! great people! well let me tell you we hunt in BLM up in de begue colo. We hunt by the laws and do everything by the book. We know all the Chevron people who patrol up there and I do know the game warden. I have been hunting in that area for 24 years. When all of roan creek was gravel. The past 3 year things have gotten a bit crazy. Those high lonesome boys sure do know how to wrangle some elk and deer and they are getting a lot better at it too whoop whoop! They get in those big ole white trucks that say high lonesome on the side of them. And drive up in down those roads

Had a STUNNING experience at High Lonesome!
My wife and I just returned this weekend after spending 6 days at this unbelievable ranch (around 400 square miles of pure heaven). Unforgettable 5 Star food, amazing activities (never thought I would enjoy fly fishing... much less cattle herding?!? I loved it!), along with the friendliest, most welcoming cast of ranchers, chefs, wranglers, staff, and animals (horses, goats, cattle) you will ever meet . I can't recommend this experience enough, a great vacation investment for everyone, friends + family. Memories of an adventure you will never forget

I have never had such an amazing, relaxing, uplifting experience at a work function as I did at the High Lonesome Ranch. First and foremost, you will never meet a more hospitable and kind bunch of staff. The chef on staff is beyond words. The food was gorgeous, upscale, overflowing, impeccable. And don't get me started on the desserts. I got to work with some of the hunting guides fairly closely. They were knowledgeable, respectful, helpful... The facilities and grounds are equally amazing. I have absolutely nothing but praise for The High Lonesome Ranch and sincerely hope that I'll make it back

Absolutely UNBELIEVABLE- what a great getaway! We had the best time, thanks to delicious gourmet dining by Chef Patrick, excellent fishing and shooting by guide Greg, killer breakfasts by Aunt Linda and Suzanne, and warm hospitality by Scott. This place is absolutely fantastic! Our accommodations were luxurious, easy access, too, even though I had a broken leg. The physical beauty of this ranch is unparalleled, with wildlife abounding. We will never forget this experience and cannot wait to return. Nothing like it in all of our travels. Everything was perfect!!! WOW!!!!! Thanks so much to everyone
