Engine 5 Bakehouse
We are a neighborhood bakery located in a restored fire station. Our kitchen and store are in the former truck bays, maintaining an open concept style which provides visitors with a full view of our kitchen going-ons. Here you will see our bakers hard at work, producing a multitude of quality baked goods. From blueberry pie made with Maine wild blueberries to coconut macaroons dipped in Belgian dark chocolate, we have something for everyone's sweet tooth.

All our baked goods are made from scratch, in-house, using no pre-made fillings, mixes, or other preservative-laden items. We source local ingredients as much as possible and are proud to use local honey and maple syrup from The Bacon Farm in Sydney. Come check out a piece of local history while you peruse our selection to find that special treat you've been craving!

This home town bakery has the most delicious blueberry muffins, pecan coffee cake and the best breakfast pizza. Visit to met Stephanie and her friendly and terrific staff. You won't be sorry!

I really enjoyed my visit to Engine 5 and look forward to going again. Came all the way from little Cranberry island with my Aunt Barbara to see Stephanie’s Bakery. It was beautiful and everything was very good!

Their chicken pot pie is one of our favorites. 😊 And the cinnamon bread. And the carrot cake. Okay, it’s all delicious (and reasonably priced)! Love this little place!

Have you ever had a deep chocolate baked donut with chocolate ganache? Engine 5 Bakehouse usually makes donuts on Friday and Saturday. They sell out so quickly, so I simply call at least a day in advance and order a bunch for myself. Yes there is one missing in the photo. It got inhaled while I was driving home. Guilty as charged! 🍩 You’ll never… want to eat a mass produced chemical filled donut again. These baked donuts are beyond delicious and have all natural, old fashioned ingredients. It doesn’t get any better than Engine 5 Bakehouse baked donuts...except maybe their
