During the past 32 years of his accounting career, some of Dean's accomplishments have included past president of Advocate Software Company; past board member for the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at the College of DuPage (COD) in Glen Ellyn, Illinois; winner of the prestigious SBA's Illinois Accountant of the Year Award; advisory board member of the BusinessWorks software division of Sage Software; and past Chairman of the Young Friends for LaGrange Community Memorial Hospital, a not-for-profit organization that raised funds for community health programs.

I was charged $600 for simple taxes. Standard deduction, nothing itemized. I thought I would try a cpa instead of doing them elsewhere but big mistake. No response after initial submission for 2 months! Then no answers to calls. The “secured” file upload site is buggy and looks like it was created in 1994. Their emails go to spam, and here’s the funny part, they know their emails go to spam yet, Dean can’t be bothered to pick up the phone. I asked about charges many times but was told I’d get a bill. And boy did I get a bill! I had originally missed that he sent an invoice along with

Simple and i mean simple tax filing fee raised from $155 last year to -$350 this year. When i inquired about the higher cost - thinking this was a mistake, Dean responded that 2 additional forms need to be prepared. Okay- really and they were $195 to be prepared? They never made us aware of this extra fee as I would have never ever filed with them for $350 taxes are simple. Beware of their additional fees as they do not disclose them upfront and slam you with it along with % that they add if you don’t pay on time. Go elsewhere - there are not many things guaranteed in life but I guarantee you

My husband and I called a few local CPA firms to get our taxes prepared this year. After talking briefly with Dean Holland about what forms we'd need to file based on our situation, he told us it would be $150-175 total. Similar CPA firms in the area had told us $175, so we thought this sounded great. No mention of hourly rates or anything, we figured this was the estimated total and proceeded to do business with their company.
The actual tax preparation went smoothly, no issues with that.
After the work was completed, however, they sent a bill to us for $325 - to our surprise much higher
