Services
Services that are considered optional "add-on" programs through an outside vendor are at anadditional cost. Southern Scripts will pass-through those costs to the Client. Southern Scripts claims adjudication system can interface with most third party vendors should a client have specific needs or programs.
The goal of Southern Scripts is to offer you the best tools to provide prescription medication to your employees so they remain healthy and productive. We feel strongly that our services accomplish this and in a manner that is also fiscally responsible for your company. Just like you though, we want to see it in black and white.

I thought it would be a great idea to add an additional insurance provider through my employer, and it has been a complete nightmare. I NEVER WOULD ENCOURAGE ANYONE TO USE SOUTHERN SCRIPTS. I have taken the same three medications for years and one of them I have been without for months, due to not being able to get it approved. They are requiring me to fill through CVS or a specialty pharmacy. I would have never signed up for an additional insurance. My now secondary policy was allowing me to fill my medications where I wanted, and they paid nearly at 100%. Now my primary (Southern Scripts) is

Terrible company. I have been taking this medication for over 13 years now and have never had such a difficult time getting my prescription. It was so bad this time that I ended up paying $330 out of pocket to avoid dealing with this company after spending countless hours on the phone with various representatives for over 2 weeks. Each representative I spoke with told me something completely different. At one point I was told everything was in process and I would be able to get my prescription later that day (a week and a half ago at this point). Another representative told me I needed a letter

My daughter is on Accutane since December 2020. In early 2021 SS decided you need a pre auth, but when the pharmacy attempts to fill they get responses not relevant at all. After several tries phone calls to SS from pharmacy and myself still not told Accutane needs a pre auth. I contact my employer with everything I did , that's who informed me I needed a pre auth. The pre auth was waived until summer. So here we go again Dr send rx to pharmacy on July 7th. July 8th I call pharmacy, per SS it's to early to fill, last fill was June12. So I play their game. July 12th call pharmacy now SS states exceeded

Unfortunately I have had several issues with Southern Scripts and their reliability. I receive montly a Rx from them monthly and in the last 18 months on several times they received my refill request, told me they'd send it out the next day and then nothing ever arrived. I have to call, wait on hold, and then discover that they can't explain why it wasn't filled but they'd do it for tomorrow. Twice in 18 months they told me they'd ship a specific day and then shipped early or later than planned with no notice. Both times I was not home to receive the medication which had to be kept refridgerated

I have never had more trouble with getting PA’s approved than I have had with the company. My husband and I both have to follow up, call them, our doctor and the pharmacy every single time. The customer service people are nice but the company itself has been a huge pain to work with. We both are on medication for condition we have had for years and is ongoing and to every single time jump through hoops to get medicine approved that has been approved before is exhausting and utterly frustrating.

Worse insurance I ever had.. seems that they only cover generic prescriptions. I've been trying to pick up my prescription that my doctor sent to the pharmacy, but cant get it, because they are saying " they need an approval from the doctor" AFTER my doctor sent the prescription to the pharmacy.
never had this issue with any other insurances.

This company became our pharmacy benefits manager last year and now beginning this year they will not pay for ANY on the cost of my birth control. That’s after of course I waited a month for my birth control to be shipped from their pharmacy. When I told the representative that the ACA requires assistance she was rude, kept slamming the phone on the counter and saying “yes ma’am, yes ma’am” repeatedly in a condescending tone. I asked to speak to a supervisor because she was telling me something different than the lady I spoke with when we first switched. She kept me on long silent pauses

I spent a total of over 4 hours on the phone with people who had no idea on how to help me get my medication. It was a SIMPLE request. I recently changed my insurance company and all I needed was for them to process my prescription and send it to me. After speaking to many different people (my call was just being passed around because no one knew how to help me), I even talked to a call center manager. Both the manager and another employee whose name I did not get, promised to give me a call back and check on the status of my order, which never happened.
