Services
The funeral home is an important part of any community. In addition to providing a variety of necessary services to the community such as burial services, cremation services, memorial services and celebrations of life, funeral homes also serve as resources for those grieving the loss of a loved one.
From 1919 to 1929, Mr. F. C. Thieme operated the funeral home and the location was moved to the present 1418 South Street address. At which time, Orville Denny purchased the funeral home and it became known as the Meyer-Denny Funeral Home. Different people have commented that they set their clock by the one infront of the funeral home.
Funeral Services Throughout history, burial has been a common practice in human communities, large and small; around the world. Learn more about burial, the burial services we offer, as well as the basic components of a traditional funeral service in this section of our website. Cremation Services Are you curious about the cremation process?
Mr. Pet-It was the English Spot Rabbit in the above photo, and Teresa Basinger is holding him. When this picture was taken in April of 2005, Mr. Pet-It was five years old. There is quite an unusual story behind Mr. Pet-It, so please take a few minutes and read his story. Since March of 2000, Mr. Pet-It has been the "owner" of Pettett Funeral Home.
We understand how difficult it is to lose a loved one. Our compassionate and caring team work hard each and every day to make sure that the members of our community and beyond are taken care of during such a difficult time. For advice on what to do when a loved one is dying, making funeral arrangements, pre-arranging your own funeral, or anything else, please feel free to contact us, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

So sad to see that this funeral home has dropped standards since Teresa is no longer running it. A death certificate was issued completely wrong and when pointed out it was simply, "oh we can just get you a new one". Then the obituary was wrong, no apology it was offered but simply"oh we will fix it". I was told to leave the clothes of my loved one on the outside doorknob the night before the service. And at the end of the graveside service we were given a bag with the book and death certificate, thanks for not giving us any time to process.

The folks at Pettett sat down with my mother years ago and assisted her with planning and saving for her funeral. When the time came, Teresa still had her notes and remembered much of her conversation with mom. Teresa helped guide my sister and I through the process wonderfully. My mother would have liked the way she looked! They did a fine job. Even with the grave side service because of social distancing rules, it was all just they way it needed to be. Thanks!
