Nix is a fifth generation family owned and operated business. We began in 1902 when founder, Charles Henry Nix, arrived in Poseyville and started his blacksmith operation. Heritage was founded in 1936 as Woods Welding. In 1981 Russ Butts purchased the business, renamed it "Heritage Custom Fabrication", and four years later moved it to "Sandhill", Three miles west of Princeton.

Heritage was founded in 1936 as Woods Welding and was located on the East Side of Princeton, Indiana. In 1981 Russ Butts purchased the business and renamed it Heritage Custom Fabricators. He moved the business in 1985 to its current location on "Sandhill", 3 miles west of Princeton. Heritage has always been a family owned and operated manufacturer specializing in gearbox repair, gear cutting, machining, and fabrication.
