Nice campground, however if you feel like staying somewhere where you feel like you are constantly being watched, this is for you! From the start the lady in office was rude. Then you are going to charge for a 7 year old at a a campsite. We have camped all over the country and have NEVER been charged for a extra kid. Then, you advertise how you are dog friendly and when we said we had two dogs her reply was "oh great." If you dont want dogs don't say "pets welcome." Then she started to educate us on moose safety, we are from Alaska and half of the stuff her and her staff

Spent 10 days here, don't know what Boost Mobile guy is talking about but after reading his review I'm glad we have AT & T! Had a fantastic stay in spot #2 which was right next to the store and never felt like our privacy was being violated, except by a pair of moose that visited our camp site one night during sundown,it was amazing. Rocky Mountain NP was fantastic which leads to my only issue with this place. We arrived on a Tuesday and went to the park Saturday where we were informed we required reservations to enter, couldn't go in until the next day. No big deal but they could

We camp here multiple times a year, in fact we just got back from our second trip here in two weeks, this is not only my favorite campground but the owners and staff are amazing. They take pride in their property and strive to make sure every guest has a pleasant experience. Do yourself a favor and ignore the review about not being able to pee in their campsite...do you really want to camp in someone else's urine? Look at the reviews they've posted for other businesses and the review posted for theirs... obviously not a pleasant person.

Anyways, Elk Creek's proximity to RMNP is

If you don't own all brand new equipment and dress only in the most expensive camping gear, don't go here. "Karen" that runs the place is outstanding! If you've never been judged going camping, this is the place for the experience! One bathroom that you can't access without a door code that she won't give out unless you're wearing a mask but absolutely do not pee in the wilderness because they are "not that type of establishment) and you will hear that sentence at least 45 times during your stay. And keep a look out for her cronies that are strategically

We stayed here in late may and enjoyed the campground and surrounding areas. Campground is clean, includes nice amenities, and has several camping options for tents, rvs, and cabin rentals. Rv sites were a little close together but everyone was very friendly. Unfortunately we didn't see any moose but heard that they are spotted frequently. Overall very positive experience!

The site spots were small and on top of each other. Staff was gruff. Bathroom had a key code to get in which is not what you need when you've walked down to the bathroom in the night.
Camp of last resort.
There was a moose.

We ventured to Rocky Mountain National Park this fall. I had settled on an RV Park in Estes Park and then decided to ask on Facebook for recommendations. A friend suggested Elk Creek. I was happy to have changed my mind. Rocky Mountain has two entrances, West and East. It's almost comparable to the North and South Rim of the Grand Canyon. By choosing the West side of the park we avoided driving through Denver. The RV park was less than a mile from the West entrance and less than a mile to the charming village of Grand Lakes and the surrounding lakes. It was much quieter on this side of the

Nice camp sites, clean bathrooms, laundry room avail. Got to see a bull moose laying in someone's campsite. Although it's a small park and the sites are close in proximity they feel intimate and secluded. Loved the full hook ups, such a treat for those of us who more than not dry camp.
We did feel very uninvited because the lady at the front desk was very snide and even nearly rude that we have 4 kids. Their policy is up to 5 people per site. (We booked under full disclosure, and apparently whoever booked us over looked this lapse since they are kids). Upon knowing this is their policy

This place is absolutely wonderful. The staff is so so warm and welcoming. We stayed in the cutest cabin and it came with a space heater (which was awesome for the cold evening.) The bathrooms are super clean and dare I say.. even smell good!! Showers were clean, hot, and great after a day of exploring. My only complaint, which is hard to even complain about, is the beds are very loud so whenever someone got up in the night, it would wake the others. I definitely recommend staying here!

This place is amazing and the couple that runs this site is absolutely delightful! They let us change our tent site a few times just so we could get the best spot facilities are well maintained, the little shop has all you need, and proximity to town/hiking is fantastic. We had such a great time we even extended our stay! Definitely will be back

We stayed at Elk Creek a few weeks ago for 3 nights with our Travel Trailer! We were VERY impressed with the customer service and the grounds were very well maintained. Knowing that we had children they put us in a site that was kid friendly and perfect. It had a little meadow behind us and plenty of room for our 30ft trailer and large truck. We got some pretty intense rain so the fire pit was to muddy to sit around, but to make up for this the owner brought us a movable fire pit. Very kind and quick service. The kiddos caught 4 small trout in the small pond. Fun little experience for them... They

We were there last weekend. Didn't love our spot until the momma moose and her baby visited. That made the spot much better :). The campground is nice and very well maintained. We will be back... Already reserved for next year. Thanks for a good time!

Our favorite spot for camping in cabins and Moose scouting in beautiful Grand Lake. This campground is tucked away among willows (which Moose love to eat). Restrooms and showers are clean. No complaints!

We had a great time with the kids over fourth of July weekend. There is a game room and a separate tv room. Also laundry and playground. The only downside was the rv site. We didn't have an rv but we had a tent. It was difficult to stake the nails of the tent into the ground because the sand would not hold and our nails would come out. Other than that it was a great campground with lots to do nearby.

Your experience at this campground depends entirely on who you are. If you have little kids and a camper, it's perfect. If you value privacy, have a tent, and don't want to hear kids screaming on the playground at 6am, this is NOT your place. The tent spots are packed one on top of another, half near the playground.
The bathrooms and showers are free and well maintained, but I'd rather have vault toilets and bathe in a lake, in exchange for not feeling like I'm in a cramped Denver subdivision.
Also irritated me that the proprietors accused my dogs of being noisy when they

Stayed for a week in a pop up camper. The site and view is nice! I like a little more room. But it did fine. There are bigger sites for pull throughs too.The bathroom and shower are very clean. Laundry area is good too. Store has supplies and souvenirs. Good for families. There are tent sites. And also nice cabins. We were visited by a moose. He was quite the celebrity! I recommend this campground. Very close to Grand Lake for good dining options. Everyone seemed to be having a nice and relaxed time!

Best camping experience: the camp site is well maintained, clean and run by friendly owners. The have community style men's and women's locker rooms with full amenities even while roughing it in a tent, cabin or teepee.
Inside the main office is a small store for those items you forget; matches, s'mores, lighter logs, and food. Be sure to wake up early and try to get a sight of the moose who wanders the campgrounds.
Best deal for camping in Grand Lake and literally next to Rocky Mountain National Park

Our basic cabin was clean and the campground appeared to be actively well managed. We were on the beginning of a summer camping trip in the Rockies, and this was our first night's stop. That was a great way to ease into a week long trip.

They also offer teepee, tent and RV spots in addition to their simple one-room cabins. Their restrooms were very clean - a real bonus on a camping trip! They have WiFi! yes, you read that right, WIFI!
