Tattoo is missing color as it was colored very sloppy and I am very disappointed. Likewise, I was told to use Aquaphor, but I ended up talking to a new tattoo parlor for a consultation and color touch-up and they said absolutely no Aquaphor. Friend of mine who has been in and out of tattoo parlors forever said they probably used the wrong needle when coloring the tattoo in. Not coming back.

I called asking if I can make an appointment for Saturday and they guy told me to come in tomorrow and we can discuss what I want and see if there is a spot available which is understandable, so I asked him "well is there even time available for me to come in so I dont waste my time and get my hopes up" and he rudely said something along the lines of "you have to come in and we will see" so I walk in and I told them what happened, they look at the book and said yeah there are no spots available. I went to Planet New York Tattoo my first time over 6 years ago to get a piercing, they were RIDICULOUSLY overpriced, and on top of it didn’t come across welcoming, or like they even cared you were there! I never went back. I had a piercing fall out recently, and it’s been SO hard to find places to go to because of Covid and all the protocols! Jerry has been my guy since my first tattoo and has done many for me. I was in recently and had a memorial piece done. Knowing the situation I was going through Jerry made it a point to get me in right away and blew me away with his generosity. I used to go here for all my piercing years ago and they were always great. The piercer there now is incredibly rude, lost my business simply due to the nasty way she communicated to me multiple times while I was trying to schedule my appointment. Went back to queen city because of this incident

Had a very pleasant experience with the Piercer Katie!! She did my Septum and walked me through the process and told me about after care and everything I needed to know! It was VERY clean and organized and near painless and I felt comfortable!! Very nice, they fit me in way sooner than I thought and I was in and out in like 15 minutes. I'm hoping that the tattoo looks better after it heals some because I looked in there and I couldn't really see by looking in the mirror but it seemed like it was alright but when I got home and took a picture of it and really looked.... I'm not thrilled with the lettering but like I said, maybe once it heals.

Absolutely love how my tattoo came out! I had a quote done in my grandmother's handwriting by Phil and the experience was excellent. I walked in on in a Thursday (not their normal walk-in day) and was assisted right away. Phil was very helpful and careful, and explained everything to me, as this was my first tattoo. We discussed aftercare and what to expect and my tattoo healed up quickly and with no issues! I highly, highly recommend Planet NY Tattoo!

Hands down, probably one of the top 3 piercers that I've ever come across. PERIOD. I stopped in today for some low maintenance work on 2 dermal piercings and he was such a pleasant person to encounter--very down to earth and confident, and clean! Most people are arrogant *** *****, but not this fella. Unfortunately, I forgot to catch his name, but I'll definitely make sure to catch it on the next round. 10/10 would absolutely recommend!

Only have gotten piercings from John and he is amazing. Everything is very clean and he is extremely knowledgable. He makes me feel comfortable and at ease. I've gotten 15 piercings from him and can't complain. While John is great the other staff is not. They are not welcoming or kind and there is a feeling of uncomfortableness when walking in. I don't enjoy speaking to the desk or artists so refuse to get tattooed there. I only go to plant NY for John the piercer.

I went to Planet NY wanting to add on to a memorial tattoo, the guy who did the original at another shop was a tool and blew me off.. At the urging of my best friend I went to PNY and Sag added on to the original and it looks amazing he was kind, professional and I wouldn't dream of going to anyone else ever again !!

Giving planet new york a rating was tough. The art is great by every artist, just got tatted by vin yesterday, super cool dude. However, the woman at the front desk has pretty much no idea how to price tattoos and charged me entirely way too much for a walk in (the artist wasn't there to tell her how much it should cost). I had her cut the price in half and it was still too much. As someone said earlier, the arrogance (which is found in many shops) is rather high here as well. Best advice I can give is know your tattoo prices and stand by them. If you think it's too much don't pay

I went here for the first time to get a micro-dermal done. The piercer, Boogie was amazing. Showed me everything. Explained everything. Very clean. Gave me the best run down I have received. Got four ear piercings there over this weekend and I would definitely go back. everyone that works there is super friendly and welcoming. the guy who pierced me was great. very clean and knowledgable. he was excited about my piercing idea and he made me totally relaxed and comfortable. my boyfriend gets tattooed here often and loves it. they will will seeing more of us soon!

My friend and I wanted to go in to get small matching ankle tattoos, so I called a week or two in advance to ask for an appointment. The guy on the phone told me because of the size, they wouldn't make an appointment and I'd have to just walk in. But the day I wanted to go in they were having a tattoo special (a fundraiser for a diabetes research), so the guy told me to come in at 11:45, just before they opened. Mike suggested that I make my appointment with Vinny based on the style of tattoo that I was looking to get. I managed to land an appointment only two weeks away from the date that I walked in.

I've gotten four out of my six tattoos done at this shop, and each one was amazingly well-done. Every artist is talented, knows what they're doing, and will do a great job every time. They are also reasonably priced. I've made many trips down from the Capital Region to get tattoos here, as there are absolutely no shops in the Albany area that are anywhere near comparable to PNY.
Also - I am SO glad that they changed their shop entrance. I remember having to go through a maze of hallways to get to the front door, but the new entrance and renovated shop are fantastic.

I have had all my piercings and my tattoo done at Planet New York and have always been pleased. Last Wednesday we went in to get my friend her first tattoo, unfortunately they couldn't do it that night so we made an appointment for the next Wednesday. Well we went at our scheduled time and the artist did not have an appointment written down, didn't have a drawing, and didn't even remember us! We rescheduled for this morning, and to Greg's credit (the artist) he did feel so bad he came in super early to accomodate. The tat is freakin' beautiful. He does all custom stuff
